Hello OASIS!
I am reaching out with a new summer opportunity for your students. The Climate Institute is a new program being offered by The Pingry School and is an immersive experience that will cultivate a new generation of climate leaders. Read on for more information and please forward to your students who you feel will benefit from this Institute. I've also attached a flyer in case you want to distribute this information at your schools/organizations.
The Climate Institute (The Pingry School - Pottersville Campus) | Rising Grades 9-12)
Dive into the science of climate change and explore innovative solutions for The Climate Institute at Pingry’s Pottersville Campus. This six-day, overnight camp encourages budding environmentalists to think critically and creatively about our planet's future. This week-long immersive/overnight program will take place at our Pottersville campus this summer, and will be taught by Pingry faculty Olivia Tandon, Pingry alum David Gelber, and a Princeton PhD Candidate Melissa Tier.
Participants will learn about cutting-edge solutions to one of the biggest problems the world faces today. They will hear from experts of different professional backgrounds, take trips to see what climate innovation looks like in sectors such as energy and agriculture, and partner with local New Jersey organizations focused on sustainability and climate justice. Join a cohort of like-minded peers and collaborate with them over the course of the week to develop action plans for your own schools or communities. A highlight will be an onsite visit to Swarthmore College to learn about the school’s deep commitment to climate action.
