Hi All,

I've been hearing reports that some people have raised an objection to a
decision that was made. I will review this decision when I'm able to
(I'm in Trustee meetings until the end of the day) and hold a telecon
then if necessary.

Please hold your debates and arguments until then.

I will also remind all teams that they are bound by the code of conduct,
please see the rules document.

Cheers!

Hi All,

To follow up, I remind all teams to be courteous with all those involved
in the competition and to respect the judges' and competition leads'
decisions.

I realize that passions are high in a competition like this but please
understand that it is never acceptable to say disparaging things about
other teams or those running the competition, be it in front of them or
to their backs.

It is also never acceptable to intimidate other teams or the judges.
Remember, we have a wide variety of cultures present so I urge all of
you to please be mindful and dial back behavior that, while not
necessarily welcome, may be considered acceptable in your culture.

Furthermore, if the competition leads have come to a decision, then that
is the decision and I ask you to all respect that.

You are welcome to disagree with it.

Even better, after the competition, you are welcome work with us to see
if it's something to address in future rulebooks.

However, we will not tolerate any person who disparages the decision or
those involved, promotes a contradictory narrative, or makes personal
attacks on other teams or those running the competition.

Ultimtely Amy, Erick, and Kam are in charge of the competition and their
decisions stand. They are welcome to ask for outside assistance in doing
so, including from me and from those running the Major RoboCupRescue
Robot League. You are welcome to ask them, respectfully, to ask us if
you think there is a misinterpretation. I'm happy to help them to
interpret the rulebook and to suggest ideas for solutions to problems,
as I have done over the past few days but ultimately they are the ones
who make the judgement calls. If you have asked for review, wait for an
answer. Continued arguing is considered harassment and will not be
tolerated.

I would like to remind all of you that, as per the rulebook, sanctions
can range from disqualification of a particular run through to being
banned from future competitions. Performance in the competition has no
bearing on our decision regarding sanctions. Just because a team
performs well doesn't give them an excuse to behave badly.

If you are a victim of harassment, or if you witness it, I urge you to
come forward with an official statement. If you wish to contact us
separate from the public list, please do so to in...@rrl-rmrc.org . It is
important that you email this official contact (rather than, say, me
personally) as this becomes an official record.

Cheers!

- Raymond
