Hi All!

I've heard from Kam some questions from folks who have seen the arena. I
wanted to echo them and my answers here, just so everyone has the same
information.

- The hurdles appear to be a little higher than spec. I'm asking to see
if they can be corrected (e.g., by shimming the ground layer with
something of a thickness equal to the amount that the hurdle is too high).

- Linear inspect and pick/place are each-point-once-per-mission. This is
marked in italics in the rulebook on the respective pages of the
rulebook. The goal was to encourage teams to inspect deeper and/or
attempt pick and place (rather than just repeating pick and not place,
or just repeating inspecting without going right to the smallest C). For
the preliminaries, if we have teams reliably scoring all 25 Landolt-Cs
or picking *and* placing all of the manipulation objects, my thought
would be that the next "frontier" should be to now do so autonomously.
If teams *are* scoring all the points *and* the autonomy multiplier, all
in 5 minutes, then we can talk about repeating. :-)

- The linear rail in the labyrinth is old (it was removed even in the
previous rulebook as the labyrinth was already too busy). The carpenters
might have made a second one, this can be used for practice in the
paddock (in which case many thanks to Philipp for bringing a spare set
of the correct pipes!).

- It appears that the clear walls are acrylic. Please be careful around
them as they're prone to shattering. I suggest that some tape (clear or
otherwise) be run around the top edges to at least contain any potential
damage.

Many thanks to Kam for fielding the questions, please do keep them coming!

Cheers!

- Raymond
