Hi Anti Violence Friends,
I have invited all of you to be part of the neighborhood Peace Walk
Google Group, and I would also like to invite you to help plan for the
upcoming prayer meeting for the peace walk. The 3rd Wednesday of Each
Month Wednesday Night prayer focuses on praying for and planning for
the upcoming Peace Walk. We will meet a week from Wednesday at my
place from 7:00-8:00
We will be praying about and planning for the upcoming Peace Walk
which is scheduled for May 14. Besides praying for the neighborhood,
I would also like to do the following:
• Go over the neighborhood survey that Jen, Fred, Russell and Diana
developed and talk about plans to get that information from people
• Plan several months worth of Peace Walks
• Delegate Responsibilities
The following are some of the roles that we will need for the peace
walk on an ongoing basis.
See You Wednesday
Peace Walk Coordinating Team
Leadership Team: with members from both Servant Partners, New Hope
(and the neighborhood if possible) to help with oversight and
planning. A couple of people who are in charge.
Day of Coordinator: There on the day of to see that everything is in
place on time and that can field questions during the event.
Advertising: Develop flyers and materials for the event so that we can
tell people what is going on.
Local Outreach: Reaching out to neighbors, community institutions such
as schools and stores. Connecting on the ground in the neighborhood.
Pubic Relations: Reaching out to news, civic leaders, other community
leaders and stake-holders. This is more of the professional end or
our communication.
Hospitality: Making sure that we have adequate snacks, drinks, cups,
plates and so on for our events.
Activity Coordinator: Coordinate activities that we develop as part of
the Peace Walk, such as, developing games for kids if we choose to do
that, helping make signs that we will use,
Research and Analysis: Taking the data we get from the surveys and
developing insightful observations from it.
