Dear Peace Walkers,

Survey: I have not heard any feedback on the survey we looked at, but
I want to give you one more chance to comment. Let us know if there
are things that you would like changed, or if you think that it is
good as is. I am working on typing up our notes today, and I want us
to get moving on beginning those conversations with neighbors. You
can find the survey on the Peace Walk Site at Announcements and
Files. I think Denisse is working on a Spanish translation.

On another note, In following up with our Peace Walk Planning, I
phoned Jesus Rodriguez, who is the OCO organizer that joined us for
the violence prevention discussion two weeks ago. I called to invite
him to our peace walk, but it turns out that he is already organizing
a peace walk for the same day and time. He will be working with Saint
Anthony's and walking down international to that church to talk about
block by block organizing. Jean Quan is supposed to come and he is
working with the OPD chief who will be there as well. So my question
is: why not just join them? I think it would further what we are
doing, and it would reduce our planning burden. We could still do the
surveys and maybe meet back at the TAC for the ice cream idea. If we
want to do this we can have some input on that happens there, but I
want to make sure that we are all on board. When we started this
process we recognized that we would need to work with others esp OCO,
so I think we should join forces.

Before I move forward with this, however, I want to know what you all
think.

Let me know.

Dan

Hi Dan,

I think it's a great idea to join forces with OCO. I think the stars
are lining up for us to work with OCO on peace/violence-prevention
stuff. Anyway, it's great that their date overlaps with our planned
date! I'll try and make it!

I think the survey looks great -- will give us some great info, I think.

sorry, I missed this. It was the day we were leaving for the
retreat. I do not think it would be a bad idea, although the focus of
their walk seems to be a little different. Not sure if that is a
problem or not.

HI all:
Some New Hope families plan to go camping that weekend, which may
reduce turnout. However, I think we should join with OCO for bigger
numbers, and then return for ice cream at TAC.
