That's right, folks - this is the first of 2 Semi-Final Slams. The top 4 finishers from this show will move on to Finals on 4/29/10 at The New Parish.
The Poets competing in this show are:
-Stephen Meads (Oakland '09, SF '08 & '05)
-Dahled Jeffries (Oakland '04 - '09)
-Aaron Gardner (Oakland '06, SJ '01)
-Dre & Patrick* (SF '08, Fairfield '09)
-Milani Pelley (Oakland '09 WoWps rep.)
-Tongo Eisen-Martin (Lyrical Minded arts educator)
-Kathy Jetnil (Co-Host of Poetry Crossroads)
Our host for both Semi-Final bouts is one of Oakland's HOTTEST new venue's - Club Paradiso (2272 Telegraph Ave). Come EARLY for a good seat - Stay late for great drinks and one of the best dance parties in The Bay! Don't make the mistake of thinking that just because it's Semi's the poets are going to hold back - they aren't! Semi's is often where the poets come the hardest and bring out their big guns; to make sure that they even make it to finals.
Don't miss it! This is going to be a GREAT show!!
