This is it! This is when YOU decide who reps Oakland at the 2009
National Poetry Slam in sunny S. Florida this August.

Semis is over - the finalists have been chosen - by YOU! In FINALS we
have "i", nerCity, Leigh Ann, D Silence & Stephen Meads from The
Oakland Slam (proper) and Chas, Joyce, Prentice & D.dra from the
Golden State Slam. They'll face off over 3 full rounds this THURSDAY
(4/30)

So you see the level of talent vying for the team... former Grand Slam
Champs from Oakland, Berkeley and SF, tested vets, passionate
newcomers and out of town imports. You gotta come to The Oasis on
Thursday April 30th to see who makes the 2009 Oakland squad. This is
one of the BIGGEST shows of the year and will feature GREAT poetry, a
LIVE band & a PARTY-AFTER spun by some of the Bay's dopest DJs.
