For those of us who's like to use email to keep up with neighborhood events, a mailing list for Oak Hills has been created.

More information is available at:

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/oakhills/about

... including how to browse the message archive, how to subscribe to the list yourself, and how to stop email delivery (from this list) permanently or temporarily (and turn it back on again later).  You can get messages as they're posted, in a daily digest, or in an abridged daily digest.

Once you are subscribed, you can send a message to all list members at the address oakh...@googlegroups.com

This is an informal list, and pretty much any topic your neighbors would be interested in is appropriate (no blatant ads, please, unless it's for a community event like a boy scout bake sale or even a garage sale).  Don't assume there are only adults here (I'm not checking ID).  There are various tools here for managing abuse, including manual approval of all messages (currently turned off), or removing problem members (the last resort).

Currently anyone anywhere can read the archives of this list (what you say here is public).  We can change that to members-only if there's a general agreement to do so.  I'm also limiting membership to people who (claim to) live in Oak Hills (again, I'm not checking ID or anything) for now.  We can change that, too, if there's a general agreement (it's easier to let them in later than it is to kick them out later).  Let me know what you think.

If other special-purpose mailing lists for the neighborhood already exist, or get created to handle some subset of the traffic here, please announce them here.

For official announcements, see the OHHA web site at http://myohha.org/  You'll also find contact information there if you need to ask a question or get a ruling on an issue (as opposed to the variety of opinions and speculation you may find here).
