Micki:

I'm not sure if you can print pictures in the Oracle, so I'm going to
compress this write up and put it in a format that might be better for
the Oracle. Please feel free to use whichever you'd like.

Here's the compressed version:

Dog Park Proposal

What
Fenced in dog park with three different areas; small, medium, and large
size dogs. There are about 46 dog parks in the Portland/Metro area, of
which only 19 are dedicated dog parks. Dedicated parks are year-round
off-leash areas with unrestricted hours. (The other parks are
designated areas of larger community parks which have specified times
for off-leash activity, but most of these shared areas are unfenced and
would allow dogs to roam free if they decide to wander off.) The
closest of these parks is located at the Hazeldale School, off of 192nd
and Farmington.

Use
Open to all residents of Oak Hills and surrounding areas. Could be set
up with annual pass, like the use of the pool. Might also be
structured as one rate for residents, one for non-residents. All dog
breeds are allowed.

Design
150' wide x 300' long, divided into three equal sections. Each
section will have a 10x10 entrance area with a gate from the perimeter,
and a separate gate into that section of the dog park. This minimizes
dogs escaping out into the public area. Each section should have one
or two trees, one or two picnic benches, a trash can, and at least one
poop bag dispenser

Materials and cost
Peeled post logs.
Cattle fencing.
Picnic benches
Poop bag dispensers
Poop bags
Trash cans

Maintenance
Oak Hills Maintenance is already maintaining the proposed areas, so
with the exception of possible dog poop, there should be no extra cost
on an ongoing basis.

Funding
Possible corporate sponsors - Nike, Intel, Parr Lumber, Home Depot,
other local businesses that want to put up advertising boards around
the perimeter on the fence.
Residents - annual passes
Outsiders - annual passes

I just sent an email to Micki Sparr, but thought I'd post something
here as well.
