Maybe I'm the last one to hear this, but in case I'm not let me direct
you all to the November Oracle where our OHHA president announced an
unsolicited offer by the Tualatin Hills Parks & Rec. District to buy
our green space.

I'm sure you'll all try to attend the meeting at 7:00 PM on November
4th at the Oak Hills Church to find out what exactly this means.

Personally, I don't see how selling our private park could possibly be
a good idea, no matter what THPRD says they plan to do with it. I'm a
big fan of THPRD in general, but I'm not a big fan of making our
private park public.

Thoughts?

For those of you who were here last time this happened, how did you
stop it? Was it just a friendly offer that you could decline?

Please pass this on to anyone you know in the neighborhood that's not
on this mailing list.

My husband and I have already emailed Linda Kitchen to let her know we
cannot be at the meeting this week (I always have a professional
obligation on Wed nights and he keeps the kids) and we didn't really
care what the details were - we would immediately put our house on the
market if our green space were to be converted to a public park. I'm
sure the money and lack of maintenance obligations will be attractive
to some, but certainly not worth what we would lose.

For the record, the article doesn't say there's an offer, just that
there's interest. Sorry if I made it seem like things were further
along than they are.
