Thanks to the committee for their fine work. The facility was elegant
and meal was most agreeable. It was fun to catch up with classmates
and to meet their husbands, wives and significant others. My only two
minor disappointments were that the time was too short and that we
couldn't have found a way to invite some of the faculty, many of whom
did service above and beyond their duties. I hope that next time we
could, even if it meant asking for extraordinary donations, manage
something. We also missed many classmates who were unable to come. If
any of them are reading, they should know that we were, for the most
part anyway, asking about them rather than talking about them. They
missed Mr. Stricler doing a fair, indeed much fairer in complexion,
imitation of the old SNL skit of Garrett Morris repeating the news for
the hard of hearing.

I found it very heartening to hear how a number of people were
volunteering or in vocations that served their communities as well as
enriching themselves. It was also good to hear how people had overcome
setbacks or tragedies in their lives. I was also struck by the general
kindness and consideration of the group. Not always the most common
traits these days. It was also funny to hear about all those things
that happened in high school that I at least had no clue about (perhaps
that isn't so surprising). Some folks have had some pretty amazing
adventures in the past twenty-five years as well. I for one would love
to hear some more tales, gospel truth or tall tale.

Hoping to hear from folks more frequently.

Oh, and for all you Purdue folks,....GO IU!!!

Jerry
