Hi All,
I was recently made aware of the planned deprecation of XSLT in Chromium-based browsers: https://developer.chrome.com/docs/web-platform/deprecating-xslt

To a lot of humans, OAI-PMH output looks like a purple-and-yellow html page, generated when the oai2.xsl transform (https://github.com/eprints/eprints3.4/blob/master/lib/static/oai2.xsl or similar. Some repository platforms have their own transforms) is applied to the XML document.

When XSLT processing is not directly supported by the browser, a few alternative options are available, including a Chrome extension - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/xslt-polyfill/hlahhpnhgficldhfioiafojgdhcppklm?pli=1 (code is here: https://github.com/mfreed7/xslt_extension). Other transform methods are also available (see first link in this message).

Is it worth adding any of these details to the OAI-PMH tools page?
I can see repository managers thinking that their OAI-PMH is broken if all they get is XML where they used to get the transformed version!

Cheers,
John
