Dear DCMI and OAI-PMH Teams,

we have been using the schema files provided by your organisations for many years.

Lately, we have had however issues with validation. It seems, that one reference in the OAI-DC schema is leading to a 404 error on the Dublin Core side, because it is only accessible via https and not http.

Is there any chance this is going to be fixed? Either by changing the reference or providing a redirect to https or another solution?

If this is not planned, kindly let us know and we will fix the issue somewhere on our side.

Thank you very much and best regards from Austria,

Elisabeth Steiner

The schema: https://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/oai_dc.xsd

The reference therein: http://dublincore.org/schemas/xmls/simpledc20021212.xsd (is working when using https)

Hi Elizabeth,
I used to run & host the DCMI website until a year ago - I have just alerted the new web manager there about this and asked him to ensure that <http://dublincore.org/schemas/xmls/simpledc20021212.xsd> resolves correctly (possibly by implementing a redirect as you suggest, but I leave that up to him)

Thanks for reporting this!

Best wishes,

Paul

Dear Ms Steiner,

You reported to us that a OAI-DC schema [1] was leading to a 404 error on the
Dublin Core side because a DCMI schema referenced in the OAI-DC schema [2] was
not redirecting properly to its current location.

We have fixed this, and the URL now redirects correctly [3]. Any remaining
issues should be resolvable by clearing XML tool caches.

If you have any further problems, please do not hesitate to get in touch,
and please feel free to forward this to any interested colleagues.

Best regards,
Tom Baker
