Hello,

it is a little complicated to find an appropriate email address. And I hope this Google groups thing is working.

1. I want to suggest https://github.com/opencultureconsulting/simple-oai-pmh for your tools page (https://www.openarchives.org/pmh/tools/). The developer of this server added some remarks and pointed to a new version https://github.com/opencultureconsulting/oai-pmh2. Details see below.

2. On page http://www.openarchives.org/documents/FAQ.html you mentioned openar...@openarchives.org as a contact email address, which seems not to work. At least I got some error messages, when I used this address.

Best regards,

Knut Wenzig

Hello,

Thanks for suggesting to add "my" OAI server software to the official list of tools. That's great!
The "Simple OAI-PMH Server" is a standalone file-based server written in PHP. It's easy to set up and maintain, but doesn't handle large amounts of data (> 1 million records) very well. It also doesn't support sets.

So maybe you also want to promote my new OAI-PMH server: https://github.com/opencultureconsulting/oai-pmh2
It's completely rewritten, supports sets and huge amounts of records, and it's just as easy to set up via Composer. Per default it uses a SQLite database, but any other database can be used as well for even better performance. I am still working on documentation, which should be finished in two weeks.

Best regards,
Sebastian Meyer

Hello,

while we are exploring possibilities for sharing metadata via OAI-PMH we found another nice piece of software:

https://github.com/opencultureconsulting/simple-oai-pmh

Perhaps you want link to add this to your tools page (https://www.openarchives.org/pmh/tools/)

The author of simple-oai-pmh gets this mail via CC.

Best regards,

Knut Wenzig

Thanks you for the suggestions Knut. I have fixed the email address and updated to tools page.

Cheers,
Simeon
