Dear TAG and Working Group

As the build for the OAeBU Pilot Dashboards has developed we’re making some technical decisions about how to bring data together, and will need to make some decisions about default choices. We are therefore conducting a Community Consultation on a set of decisions that need to be made over the next few months.

There are a mix of related issues here. There are some simple questions of which field to use from a particular data source, and also complex questions around where we focus our attention in the pilot. More broadly all of the issues we face relate to questions of how to improve scholarly book metadata more generally and how we can relate greater incentives for all stakeholders to invest in improved metadata.

We have put together a discussion document  which contains a set of questions. We have also pulled the key questions out into a survey for which we’d appreciate your input.

Discussion on the Norms and Standards and Technical Advisory Group mailing lists are also welcome and we will try to synthesise all input. However for simplicity, using the online questionnaire will make our collation easier!

Cheers

Cameron

Dear Cameron

Are you happy for me to share this with the COUNTER Executive Committee?

Hi Lorraine,

Very happy to get a wide range of input from those that are interested. Some of it is quite niche but there are no compulsory questions as well so input on any specific issue is also valuable.

Cheers

Cameron
