Greetings Everyone:

Congratulations - Great Progress to Date
Over the past few months, you have collectively identified four functional roles at university presses and the activities of each role that involve OA eBook usage data. Using the GroupMap boards, you identified activities asynchronously. These inputs were grouped and discussed over the past two weeks with a number of you via Zoom meetings.

Despite this virtual work occurring at a very busy time for all, we have made incredible progress. On the calls, editorial, sales, and marketing activities were discussed in detail.  You have also helped me to refine our approach to exploring use cases within our other OAeBU stakeholder communities.

What's Next
Given the overlap between many of the activities listed on the Sales/Marketing and Editorial Director boards and the Press Director board, Kevin Hawkins and I decided to convert the use cases from across the GroupMap boards into a single google doc to enable another wave of asynchronous contributions by members of this group.
To assist with version control and preserve the contributions made to the GroupMap boards, those boards will be locked to ensure that future edits and contributions are made in the google doc.

Thank you for all you have contributed to date. I look forward to seeing how this evolves over the coming month.

Best regards,
Christina

Dear Christina,

I'm sorry to have stood you up at the event that I had registered for because of my ineptitude. Feeling guilty, I have added quite a large number of comments to the Google Doc and would be interested to see which resonate with fellow members of this group. I think it's a very strong document, in general, and made me think of some use of OA data that I had not contemplated before. Thank you for your and your team's great work on this project.

Charles

Happy October Everyone:

I hope you are all enjoying the change of seasons. Over the past month, a number of comments and additions have been made to our University Press OA eBook Usage Data use-case document, which I will be sharing with our project's Advisory Board this Friday.  The current document reflects a diverse set of uses for OA eBook usage information across press organizations; thank you for helping to build this out.

If you haven't yet had a chance, please take 15 minutes this week to comment, edit, and add additional ideas directly in our University Press OA Ebook Usage Data Use-Case Details document:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/19-JsU2v2ZveZwNxzPmCI-jXqVmqPtPn8EXps9ST4jqk/edit?usp=sharing

While this document will likely evolve over time, after this week it will be shared with our technical teams to inform data trust architecture conversations.

Best regards,

Christina
