Just wanted to take a sec and let everyone know about a new cycling
club that has been established in Columbus...
The Ohio Orthopedic Cycling Team
www.morocycling.org
The goal of this club is to bring interest in cycling to Columbus
youth, primarily (but not limited to) middle-school age children,
teach them about the sport of cycling, get them on bikes, and
hopefully impact cycling overall in Columbus by growing the sport.
At the same time, there is a sponsored team competing and setting a
positive example for the kids, acting somewhat as role-models and
mentors.
This club has two sides two it: A competitive team side that
competes in local races and a growth and training side for those new
to the sport. If you have been wanting to get into the sport of
cycling, but lack the confidence to jump into racing quite yet, this
is the club for you. If you are an experienced rider looking to join
a team that truly has an effect on the community, this is the club for
you. The group is lead by Scott Moro (who I believe was a pro cyclist
in Australia) and has a wealth of knowledge he is looking to share.
And if you need that extra push to convince you....I'll be signing
up as well.
Anyways...if interested check out the site and contact the club.
Training will be tentatively starting in February, but there is no cut-
off date for joining.
