Is anyone interested in joining me for the 2008 Ride the C-Bus?

It's a 10-30mile bike ride around the the different Columbus
neighborhoods. After the ride there will be amateur as wellas
proffessional cycle competitions. The ride is $25, but the races are
free to spectators. There is more info on the Columbus OA chapter
webpage at www.organicathlete.org/columbus as well as at www.bikethecbus.com.

Cheers,

I'm back in Ohio early and glad to see you're getting so much started
already! Unfortunately, this is the same date as one of the 50k
series ultra trail runs (Germantown for this one) on Aug 23 so can't
make it. Sounds like fun though..hope you have a good showing!

Hey there, glad to see you back in town sooner than expected. How
was the Chi-Running camp? I have heard a bit about the Chi-Running
program, but have yet to experience it first hand. You had said
before you left that were thinking of possibly getting certified and
holding a clinic on this topic, right? Have you put any more thought
to this? I would love to help you organize/promote it if you decide
on doing so.

And no worries about missing the Bike the C-Bus event. Kind of a
last second thing....that and I am never offended by getting passed up
by a 50K competition. If Jay Smithberger is there, tell him I said hi
(I met him at the last MFA dinner). You don't happen to have his
email address do you? I would like to send him and his wife an invite
to this group. Thanks and best of luck....

I am blown away about the ChiRunning...make that obsessed! Seldom do you
see immediate results with most things but I already have and am practicing
every day. It takes some time to get certified and, yes, it is definitely
on my agenda. The next 4-day session for that in October is already booked
full (it's in NC) but I think I'll get on a waiting list. Truthfully, I
wouldn't be experienced enough that soon to instruct any way but I truly
appreciate your offer and will take you up on it in the future as I have
never done anything of this sort before. It's actually quite inexpensive
to become certified but this thing is growing hugely and they want to make
sure you know HOW to do as well as teach. www.chirunning.com is worth
checking out!
I used to have Jay's e-mail address but don't seem to any longer. His
phone is in the book so I'll give you that 740-587-9858. I'm sure he and
Shelly would love to be included. I'll be happy to meet you and your
fiance sooner than I expected. I lived in Chicago for a year long ago.
Jay does so many races (he usually wins!) that I don't know if he'll be at
this one or not. Again, soooo glad you got organicathlete started in our
area. Once we meet, I can probably give you a list of other folks to
e-mail that would be interested that live in the Clintonville area and just
don't know about the group.
Now that I'm without an income, I actually calculate what it costs in gas
to come to Columbus ($8 round trip right now!) so I don't do it often but
will try to make exception for MFA and OA meetings and some trail running.
I saw your e-mails about bike rides...do you all know about the dirt bike
trails at Alum Creek? I'm just a joy rider when it comes to me and my old
street bike but I love it. There are some gentle dirt bike trails that I
run on all along Olentangy too..(get on them at Tuttle or Whetstone) that
are pretty well hidden. I'm sure you'll find good rides!

Rebecca,

Hey there, thanks for the link to chirunning, I'll go check it out
right now. Could always go for some immediate improvement on my
running : )

And thanks for Jay's #, I'll give him a call later this week and
give him the info for this google group...wanna be sure to keep him
and his wife in the loop.

As far as the other Clintonville/Columbus veggie athletes, feel free
to go ahead and distribute the web address for this group freely. The
more like minded people in the OA loop, the richer our community will
be....not so easy finding vegetarians/vegans, never the less
competively athletic ones at that. If you are to busy to mass email
everyone, you can send the list of potentials to my personal email
account, and I can send an invite instead.

Cheers,

Yony

Will do. I'm proud to say that my relationships are mostly in person so
there are a lot of people with whom I don't have e-mail addresses but I'll
get the word out however I can. If you've found Clintonville Community
Market by now, Front Runner, places like that, you'll find the bikers and
vegans...and vegan bikers. Just let me know whatever I can do to help grow
us all in this direction. Actually, I know there's a regular biking group
near me in Newark as well but, again, I did a ride with them but don't have
e-mail addresses. Hell, I don't even have a cell phone!!!!! On purpose!!!
:-)
