Grouping annotations?

Dear list,

another question - but I'm putting this in an extra email since it's
not directly related:

Is there a way to group annotations? My use case would be that I have
a set of annotations (e.g. representing several human-generated "tags"
from a controlled vocab on a fragment of text), and I would like to
model the fact that those tags were created in the same context, i.e.
as a single user action, stored at the same timestamp, created by the
same user.

I know I could achieve this by using a structured body. But I'd rather
avoid that, since I'm aiming for interoperability with another system
(Pelagios), in which the annotation body is unstructured, consisting
only of a single URI from a controlled vocab (a Gazetteer entry).

Therefore, a way to either (a) have some sort of a grouping construct
to define a collection of annotations; or (b) a way to include
multiple bodies (less nice, probably...) would really help my
scenario.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Rainer

In the Shared Canvas work we have used ORE Aggregations of Annotations
to group them together.
ORE: http://www.openarchives.org/ore/

Example:
http://www.shared-canvas.org/impl/demo1/res/Transcriptions-f1r.n3
This is a set of all of the annotations (transcriptions of the text)
from a single folio of a manuscript.

You can also use RDF constructions such as List to impose order on the
aggregation, as in the above example.

Rob
