Greetings All:

I wanted to share two resources that I have recently discovered and am in the process of reviewing given their direct relevance to data policy conversations for a usage data trust:
  1. A draft international standard being circulated for comment that pertains to data sharing agreements ISO/IEC DIS 23751 Information technology — Cloud computing and distributed platforms — Data sharing agreement (DSA) framework
  2. Design Principles for Data Spaces, an OpenDEI position paper that outlines a roadmap for "international data spaces" developing in the EU. In particular, I recommend reading the introduction (Chapter 0), Sections 1.4-1.8, relevant EU regulation (Section 1.8, pg. 34), and the data space governance building block content (Sections 2.2, pgs. 40-44, and 2.4, pgs. 53-63).  Upon my first read, it appears there is much in here that relates to OA book publishing. This paper moves beyond the governance design mechanisms paper shared earlier on this list by surfacing specific technical and agreement based mechanisms that operationalize  governance.
I hope you find these resources as informative and intriguing as I am. As always, please share relevant resources or thoughts via this list. Note :the quarterly update of our project's governance and technical pilot activities will be forthcoming later this week.

Best regards,

Christina
