I am attempting to map a very large texture onto the interior surface
of a sphere but I cannot use textures above 2048x2048 pixels.
Everything works so far and I can scale the image down to size however
it looses too much detail in the scaling. Is there a way to import
larger textures than 2048x2048?

Thanks!

Unfortunately it's unlikely we'll be able to change the maximum texture size since many common GPUs do not support sizes larger than 2048x2048.

Can you split your larger texture into several smaller textures and then build geometry and/or shaders to use them all together to achieve similar results?

Thanks!
