AWA funds for pastured poultry operations, would that also include egg production?
I am looking to expand my organic egg production as I have a waiting list throughout
Florida, I am the only 5 Egg rated operation in the State.

Alice-

I have talked to a number of people in FL including Miami and there is definitely need for your product.  I’ll point them to you. Yes, AWA will fund grants to expand egg production. You need to be an AWA farm certified for egg production or be in the process of applying to be such. I received a grant last year and am finishing up the project now to build another pasture layer house. AWA may be able to help you with marketing your product as well. I will tell you that they will not certify future flocks of Red Sex Links as the breed is prohibited by their standards, however you may be able to get a derogation for any current flock.
