We are looking for a Xen host for a site, anticipating a major spike
over an upcoming promo. A very rough estimate based on the last
release, we are anticipating in the region of 50-70GB/month traffic.

Can anyone make recommendations, for or against the following options
in NZ? Is anyone missing from this list?

* Free Parking VPS - http://www.freeparking.co.nz/hosting/vps/index.mv
* OpenHost - http://www.openhost.co.nz/vps/144/linuxvps.html
* Webfarm - http://www.webfarm.co.nz/products_vps/
* 2day - http://www.2day.com/products/groupList.aspx?grp=11
* Break - http://www.break.co.nz/hosting_server.html%23vps
* NetSmart - http://www.netsmart.co.nz/servers/index.cfm?page=vm
* SiteHost - http://www.sitehost.co.nz/products/virtual-private-server

Webfarm have reputation and offer free nationwide traffic (though I
haven't asked if this reaches as high as we anticipate.)

SiteHost seem cheapest of the lot.

We also looked at RimuHosting, but their plans don't seem to scale as
big as I expect we'll need.

Price is not the biggest issue - I want to know more about
dependability and support in event of bad things.

There's a post a while back from Jasper mentioning DigiWeb offer the
same, but no pricing info on their site.

And then I read this. Just give them a call.

A vote for sitehost. Use them myself and the service from the tech team
is utterly fantastic.

I am using the webfarm vps, but they are more 8am-10pm Mon-Fri sort of
support. And the vps ensim system is based on a 20 site licence. I have had
issues with the support levels and have not been able to get hold of them
when the server has gone down/server now on their autorestart system. I have
also changed from ensim to cpanel/whm. So webfarm is working for me, but it
has been an interesting journey.

Break hosting support and plans sound not a bad deal.

Regards
Michael
