Hi guys,

my name is Christian. I'm computer engineer, working in web
developments since 2000. I'm in Auckland right now with my family on
holiday, and I'm attending a short english course at The University of
Auckland (I need to improve my English). We loved this country, the
lifestyle and we think that is a great place to raise our little
daughters. For this reasons we've decided to continue staying in NZ in
the case that, in the next 3 weeks, we could find a job and a work
permit.

In Argentina I have two jobs. In one, I'm coordinating the web
developments team at Universidad Nacional de La Matanza
(www.unlam.edu.ar). In the other, I'm coordinating the software
developments area at Instituto Malbrán (www.anlis.gov.ar)

As programmer, my strong skill is based on LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql
and PHP), but a I have expercience working on C#, VB 6, SQL Server,
PostgreSQL, etc.

Our local cell phone number is 0221930281. Please, let me know if
someone of you are interested in my skill or if you know who could be
interested.
I'm traslating my CV to english. It's going to be available ASAP for
any request.

I am available to schedule an interview. Before back to Argentina, I'm
visiting Wellington, New Plymouth and Hamilton.

If you think that I could be useful for you, or any suggestion please
contact me off list.

Best regards,

Christian Mazur.-

I would be very suspicious about T1 (www.hqt1.com) it seems to be a
company which offers work once you have paid them money for a training
course I have come across sites like this before.
It also worth noting that their website does not exactly set the world
alight and it does not pass W3 coding standards.

Agree, it looks like a scam. Maybe someone here has worked with them?

Not many sites pass W3 validation sadly.

Then on the other hand if you check the domain holders social media
accounts, it doesn't raise any suspicion. So I went through the
application process and wasn't asked for any payment. Kirk, where did
you see this?

It looks just like someone has spend great effort to automate and
break up the hiring of interns.

Hi Christian,

Have a look on TradeMe -
http://www.trademe.co.nz/jobs/it/programming-development

Also, New Zealand has a special immigration category for skilled
workers:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/skilledmigrant/overview/

Obviously you should obtain specialist advice, but from my layman's
perspective it may be worth considering applying for this *while* you
search - if you fail to find a suitable position in the time you're
here, it may give you the chance to come back and search over a longer
period.

I wish you luck!

Actually it does say on there website there are no fees so I may be
wrong but they do require that you work for free for them

1. Is there a cost for the training
No we provide the training at no charge, initially training is self
paced and autonomous,

readings and background study, and setting up logins and usernames.
However your mentor will set mutually agreed targets for all training
prior to commencement which we expect you to meet.

Further training is based on following training checklists and
discussing it with your mentor.

To provide mentoring and prepare this training material costs us a lot
of time which could be spent earning money directly, the only
compensation we expect is a committment that you will work on internal
projects and some client projects at no payment during your training
and internship periods, this gives T1 a chance to recoup the training
costs directly from the labour you provide free of charge.

The one condition which may not work for some, is that once the internship is complete, they need to be able to rely on you to do paid part time work for them if they require it. I.e, don't get us to train you and then piss off and refuse to work for us.

If you are using it to get into a job further down the track, you would need to budget for the possibility of having to fit their work in as well.

I think there is nothing wrong with asking for an internship, I have
done this myself successfully, albeit I found it easier to simply pay
minimum wage.

I think this is fair enough as well. I feel there has to be some sort
of time limit for this.

You would have to talk over your individual requirements with the Manager.
