to NZ Open Govt Data Barcamp and Hackfest
Did I pick up that there was a plan to do some work on this (OIA
publication) at the hackfest.
In conversation with Tom Steinberg, he said that it was one of their
simpler apps to adapt (relative to, say, FixMyStreet).
Two other points he made:
If you can´t name your site in simple words that say what it does
(TWFYNZ, FIxMyStreet, WhatTheyKnow), then you are probably not
delivering something that will resonate with people.
The most important thing is to deliver something that people will use
- the transparency, permanent record and data analytics come as
byproducts (that policy wonks can get really excited by, but they don
´t pull in the punters).
