LINZ address import progress

Today we got to

2/3 of all addresses imported (650,000 left)
1/3 of all places imported (2075 left)

This is after 6 months work, primarily by 2 dedicated workers, (and a
few other helpers)

There is still plenty to do, so please do get in touch if you want any
pointers on how to get started. Even a small amount by a few people
would make a good difference.

And now at 90% of addresses imported (191,000 left).

I wonder if the availability of addresses has influenced Ubers decision to investigate OSM in NZ? 

Once again please jump in and help out if you can, still 1500 places left to import.

I'm Suneel, product manager leading the OSM initiative at Uber.  Curious to know what is required to process theses addresses.  We will be glad to help.

Can you please provide some training/pointers? Also, I was not aware of the availability of the addressees data in NZ but happy to see this data.

Hi Suneel,

Eliot is the original organiser of the address import, I've just been helping out.  Any help with the import would be much appreciated though.  A link to the data sets, instructions etc. can be found in Eliot's original post to this group under "Address import from LINZ address - help wanted".

We are now at just over 95% of addresses imported with 93,000 addresses in 1300 places left to import.
