Hello again Team Managers, Team Captains and other interested parties,

Well there's not long to go until the National Championship regatta and we hope that your training and preparation is going well and that your respective teams are all pumped and ready.

To the South Island teams or teams travelling to the South Island this weekend to take part in the South Island Dragonboat Championship regatta being hosted by the Aoraki Dragonboat Association at Lake Hood in Ashburton. Good luck, good paddling to you all and have a great time.

For those teams in the North Island you have one more week of anticipation and angst (or should that be 1 more week to get preprared) until the Auckland Regional Championship regatta at Lake Pupuke in Takapuna hosted by the Auckland Dragonboat Association.

Then on the following weekend Dragonboaters from all over NZ will gather for the NZ National Championship regatta. Yip that's all of you and your teams and your associated hangers-on sorry I mean wonderful supporters.
This year's event is shaping up to be great and there will also be an Australian team in our midst for the first time in a while. Actually they're more Kiwi's than Aussies as much of the team are expats but they are looking forward to coming home to paddle and to take us all on.
So welcome home to Te Waka Dragons who hail from Queensland.

Whew! if that hasn't got you all excited or even a little nervous then maybe you should reconsider whether Dragonboating is quite your thing :-)
Now back to the more mundane but important things in life. I have attached for your filling in pleasure the new and improved Safety Waiver and Next of Kin form. It's now all in just one form because a few of you advised that it was a pain to get your teams to fill in pretty much the same information in 2 different forms. So here you go. Don't say we don't do anything for you all.

This form needs to be handed in on or before the 1st day of racing. If you have the facilities to do so then you can scan it and email it in to nati...@nzdba.co.nz.

Thanks all. If you have any queries then please email us or talk to one of your friendly NZDBA Board members who you will see out there training or coaching or organising stuff.
