Race Pack for NZDBA Nationals 2016

Hi folks,

sorry for the delay, but attached is the updated Race Pack for this weekend's very full National Championships Regatta.

Please read it carefully. We have updated it based on the "trial run" from last weekend, so there are a few improvements.

Even for those visiting teams, there are some changes - for a start, the road from Tinwald (Ashburton) to the lakeside tent area has changed. Developers have made it more straightforward, so simply follow your nose (and the "Aoraki" teardrop signs) and you will find the familiar sight of the Lake House Restaurant.

The Race Draw is being finalised right now and we will send it out soon. Please let us know if there are any issues around clashes - especially if you are, say, Sweeping for two crews and forgotten to tell us. 

Your Crew Lists are coming in fast - have you sent yours? Make sure we have one so that our Officials can check your ID Cards as you come to the Crew Loading tents. Incidentally, thanks to Heather Bisset who has worked tirelessly to print many runs of ID cards - the final batch is due to be run tomorrow evening.

Speaking of "Race Officials" we are thrilled to be able to step things up a few notches this year. Chief Official for the Regatta will be the very experienced Sylvia Wong, from Sydney. In fact IDBF announced last night that Sylvia has been selected to join the Competition and Technical Committee, under Mel Cantwell, who recently ran two training courses in Christchurch and Auckland to upskill NZDBA Race Officials.

Joining Sylvia is an equally skilled and experienced IDBF Official, Belinda Chung who will provide eagle eyes as Course Umpire from the chase boats.

We are expecting to have technology that will give you good replay video of races as you come off the water, so head for the "Chill Out Tent" behind the Grandstandium, to see what went so well in your race!
