Hi all,
I had a couple of people contact me late last week querying the dual purpose of the Google Group (ie we had said it was for announcements etc for CloudCode, however had also opened it up for discussion related to it).
While it is possible to change your settings to only receive a daily digest of discussions, the point was well made that as a medium for discussion of what will most likely be detailed matters an email group is not ideal, mainly due to the fact it emails everyone on discussions that might not interest them plus the lack of threading etc.
Hence let’s keep this as an announcement-only list sending out updates in relation to the project and seeking engagement and discussion between stakeholders and the project team, to ensure an orderly dissimilation of information and engagement. Obviously with a project such as this, with much detail and no doubt robust debate, we need to ensure the work is well structured.
Ryan Ashton has kindly offered the use of the Cloud Computing Forum LinkedIn Group for more detailed group discussion. This is an independent general LinkedIn group and not affiliated with NZCS or any other organisation:

Hence unless anyone has a major problem with this approach let’s go with:
· This list for updates and announcements in relation to the CloudCode (as originally stated)
· Project Team will engage with various stakeholders directly and in sub-groups (requesting participation in these sub-groups via this list)
· The LinkedIn group above for more detailed group discussion
This should hopefully strike a good balance between not invading everyone’s inbox, providing formal “stakeholder engagement” with the project team and allowing for group discussion between stakeholders.
Cheers all!
