Hi All
Just a brief update on where we are with the NZ Cloud code of Practice workshops.
To-date we have held 4 workshops, 1 in Christchurch and 3 in Wellington, engaging well over 60 people so far. The comments have been great, with many ideas tossed into the ring ( and some tossed back out again!) for discussion. The links for the formal feedback will be sent out soon to participants of these workshops to get their formal comment on the Structure and Approach they think the NZ code of practice should take.
There are 3 more workshops being held in Auckland this week, and next week a NZ wide Video Conference will be held, allowing those in the 3 main centres who didn’t make it to a meeting, to join people in Tauranga, Napier, Hamilton, Palmerston North and Dunedin.
The engagement with participants of the workshops todate has been very encouraging, it has been brilliant to see so many people, from both a supplier and customer background, keen to be involved in the development of the code. Without this valuable participation we cannot create a code that is genuinely based on community consultation which is incredibly important to the success and uptake of the code once it has been developed.
We are still taking registrations for the Auckland Events, so if you haven’t already registered, please head over to http://www.nzcs.org.nz/events/auckland/485-Consultation_Workshop_for_Cloud_Computing_Code_of_Practice and register now - I would love to see as many people as possible involved with the development of the code and this is a great opportunity to be involved!
With thanks to Gen-I, we have been able to secure their smart meeting rooms to facilitate a videoconference over 8 locations on Monday the 5th December at 9am. There are strictly limited seats for this event and places will be allocated on a first in first served basis. The Video Conference is the same format as the workshops whereby we will be discussing the Structure and Approach that the community thinks the code should take. This will be the last chance to be involved in discussions on this particular part of the code. If you would like to participate in the video conference please head over to http://www.nzcs.org.nz/events/auckland/492-Smartmeeting_Workshop_for_Cloud_Computing_Code_of_Practice to register.
We will be providing details via our website of future events as they are confirmed around the specific content consultation, please check there for information, - of course the google group will be notified as these dates are released.
I’m looking forward to meeting those of you who are attending the Auckland Events, and those who intend to partake in the Video Conference on Monday.
Kind Regards
Joy Cottle
