Cloud Code of Practice Consultation

Hi All

 

We are now ready to start assembling the reference group which our project team will consult with to form the structure and approach of the Cloud Code of Practice.

 

Firstly tho, I wanted to introduce myself.  As Paul has mentioned  in an earlier post, I have been contracted as the project co-ordinator, and also as he quite rightly said I am not a cloud expert, but having founded and managed iSERVE for 10 years  I do understand a lot of the issues  faced by both infrastructure and platform providers  and have worked along side many application providers in New Zealand as well – so the subject is certainly not new to me. 

 

The project is certainly an exciting one and it goes without saying that the flow on affect that this code of practice will have on our industry, market, consumers, and providers is going to be interesting to watch.  The fact that so many in our community are coming together to form this code of Practice is amazing and I am looking forward  to engaging with as many of you as possible over the coming months.

 

We will be using this google group to communicate general updates of our progress and details of meetings which will be held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch over the next 4 weeks, and will also be looking for people who are interested in forming specialist focus groups in areas such as Saas, Iaas, Paas, security and the other general issues that need to be covered by this code in time.

 

Please let as many of your colleagues know about this group as the larger we can get this group, the bigger base of comment and experience we can draw on to put the code together.

 

The reference group meetings are currently scheduled for (these may change subject to member numbers in each area)

 

·         Christchurch    15 - 16th November

·         Wellington       21 - 22nd November

·         Auckland          1-2 December.
