Hi Mike,
Yes, things have been progressing well, albeit delayed a little due to illness.
A heap of work’s been going on behind the scenes here to:
· Put together the Terms of Reference for the work
· Sorting out the structure for the exercise to ensure a broad representation and engagement (ie the Steering Group, Reference Group, NZCS structures and operational roles)
· Working out the draft scope of the Steering Group
· Documenting the most reasonable way of allocating Steering Group places
· Sorting out budgeting and funding
· Discussing with several
· Engaging with a number of significant stakeholders who were not at the workshop to discuss progress and ensure they’re engaged
· Identifying an individual to take up the contract within NZCS for coordinating the exercise
· Some consideration of overseas work (just enough to finalise scope of this piece of work, not the full research)
· A few other miscellaneous things
It has stretched on longer than anticipated primarily due to illness (the original deadline for the draft ToR was last week), however things are progressing at a steady pace and definitely haven’t come to a standstill!
Apologies for the lack of comms on this – the suggested Terms of Reference with much of the above will be circulated around the wider group very shortly. As I say, it would have been done if it wasn’t for illness L.

The draft Terms of Reference are complete and just going through the governance process at this end and should be released to this group tomorrow for feedback.
