Hi there,

I have had this TV for some time - sitting on the pedestal that came
with it. I have bought a wall mount for it and cannot figure out how
to attach the TV to the wall mount.

On the back of the TV there are four discs that looked like they would
be in the right position for the wall mount brackets. I popped the
discs out and there is a hole that looks like a bolt can be screwed
into it. I tried an M8 - too small, so I tried an M10 - there appears
to be no thread to screw it into. There is no mention of wall mounts
and no information on these holes in the TV owners manual and Google
has not produced any informative results.

So - has anyone done this before that can help out?

It seems that you need to buy a proprietary Panasonic wall-mount.

Where did you get that idea from? Its not permanant wiring so no
problems being done by the householder so long as the owner of the wall
is happy to have it mounted.

You should check with Panasonic. Using a bolt that is too long or
incorrect thread will ruin it.

So Woger, the self-proclaimed "Tech", do you have a clue about wall
construction or the proper way to mount a TV to a wall of any given
construction, or the load ratings of any of the commonly used systems
for fastening things to walls?

The question is not about securing the wall-mount to the wall. The
wall-mount unit I bought has a plate that fixes to the wall and
brackets that clamp to the wall plate and (normally bolt to) the TV.
None of the bolts supplied fit the holes in the TV - which don't
appear to have threads.

I had a builder in to do other work and got him to fix the
wall-bracket to the wall. Unfortunately it looks like a proprietary
fixing mechanism is used to fix the TV to the bracket, meaning only a
proprietary wall-mount from Panasonic can be used.

So what you are saying is that you went and brought a wall bracket for
the Tv didn't make any kind of checks before purchase to see if it would
actually work with your TV, you then got a builder to fix it to the wall?

I don't know what planet you are on, but you have done things arse about
face here.

I have said nothing about the circumstances in which I bought the
bracket (some months ago now) and I asked whether it could be used
with my TV (stating model number) and the answer was yes - my TVs
model number was listed on the manufacturers website - checked in the
shop over the web.

If a solution could not be found then the bracket would have been
taken down and returned.

We're psychic - we knew what sort of person you were and were hoping you'd
get what you deserve, that the plasma set would fall off the wall and break.
