Where are this best fishing spots

I have recently moved to Wellington and would like to know where the best
surfcasting spots are.
I live in the Porirua area.

the otaki or waikanae river mouth.
in wgtn itself, lots of people fish off the overseas terminal, miramar
wharf,oriental bay, and on the breakwater by the airport.
also some of the beaches to the south, (round red rocks way).
now thats where people fish...but I dont know where they "catch" he he.

See if you can find a copy of New Zealand fishing news Annual Map guide. I
got one about a month ago, so I don't know if they're still about.
Incredible detail for both salt and fresh, baits, times, the lot.

There is a local fishing spot by the Mana boating club at the mouth of the
porirua harbour.
Good for surf casters. Turning of high tide is best. I'd say spinners would
be good there too.
Drive to the end of the straight road turning from SH1 at mana to the mana
boating club.

I thought that the best fishing spots were top secret.

A new teacher at a rural school got the kids to write essays on the best
fishing spots then turned them over to her husband who was a keen angler.
