What a joke. This is justice? All that matters nowadays is whether "a
risk is posed to society". What about paying your debt to society?

All that Labour party lies about the sentencing act...

I agree. I'm not sure who decided on home detention. Was it the judge or
someone else?

Bob Howard.

Probably Phil Goff's mate that was pretending to be a Judge when he reduced
the sentence of the Asian down to only a year for killing a child with a car
he couldn't drive.

Wasn't there a drug user in a wheelchair sent off to prison not that long
ago?
If so, he should've got home detention as well.

1. Home detention was a product of the Shipley National Government.
2 The criteria is pre set in written form, Judges know that if they
sentenced to under two years for non violent offending such as McDonalds
that criminals that meet the criteria will be granted HD unless the Judge
specifically denies the right to apply. (remember the dog attack judge
viewed dog bite was violence).

Q. Should violent criminals being combined with non violent ones inside
our jails.

Jail is not the place for McDonald

The dog owner that was beaten up in prison was denied home detention.
There's no reason why the long drug offending McDonald shouldn't have sent
to prison just the same that other serious drug users have been.
