For a forthcoming feature article in Network World, I have been asked
to look at the ISP market and users' impressions.

What do you, as a private and/or business user, look for in an ISP?
How do you go about judging the competing offerings from ISPs, and
where is your priority: as one ISP director succinctly put it to me;
are you looking for "good," "quick" or "cheap"? Levels of support;
reliability and availability; high practical bandwidth; or cost?

How have these levels changed in experience with the ISP(s) you have
used? In particular, do you see them being affected by the incursion
of Telecom and potentially Clear?

No comments will be attributed unless you specifically request or
consent to this, and probably not even then. I am merely seeking some
general impressions from the marketplace.
