Winston sent to the showers

Once again Lockwood shows real leadership.

Winston is a bumbling incoherent drunkard with proven form for lying
through his teeth. It beggars belief that 1 in 20 voted for him. If
there ever was a case for voters having to pass a qualifying test this
is it.

True. But the same description applies to John Key.

It would appear rather obvious, even to the thickest of the left wing
spectrum, that he is literate.

Of course!

Was he a woodwork teacher? That would be a commonsense practical job, and
should counterbalance any fanciful theories floating around in parliament.

doesn't mind a few baubles, but objects to the extreme crony

Hey, don't let fact get in the way of newsmans dodgy claims.
And apparently Brownlee is a Minister of the crown and an elected member
of Parliament rather than a woodwork teacher...

ROTFLMAO. Winston objects to crony capitalism! Hilarious!

Muldoon was a hard core socialist. Winston is still living in that
time.
It was all state control. Corruption was never talked about. cosy
deals were called unwise. Not as bad as the Clark years but getting
pretty close.

Surely Muldoon led the National Party?

If he was a Socialist, what on earth was Labour?

Have a think.

If Gerry was illiterate he would neither have been a woodwork teacher nor a teacher.

AFAIK a woodwork teacher has to be an experienced tradesperson before becoming a teacher. You just cannot go to teachers college and learn to be a woodwork teacher.

And this all indicated that Gerry had a useful and respectable job in the real world before either being a woodwork teacher or entering Parliament - something which many leftwing MP's have never had.

I was refering to (the potential to) forming governments: Labour have

The current National governmet demonstrates more clearly than any
predecessor their inability to coppoerate with any other political
party.

NZ First, who had more seats than the Green Party, would not go into
coalition with Labour if they went into coalition with the then
smaller Green party. Nevertheless Labour did cooperate with the Green
party throughout the nine years. I doubt there would be any problems
witha Labour/Green coalition now.

It'd be a Green/Labor coalition till Labor proved their toxicity Richie.
After all if Labor had been able to cooperate with others points of view we
wouldn't have a Maori party today.
