tastes), here's an item that, to my astonishment, has appeared on
Youtube almost 30 years after the event: Saudi-Arabian singer,
Mohammed Abduh, then the 'Frank Sinatra' of the arab world,
performing on live television, quarter-tones, microtones and all, at
the Andalus Cinema, Kuwait on 25th February 1980, characteristic
tinny-sounding arabic conveyed via yours truly.

Sorry mate, 99% of the time I agree with you and with regards to
Michael Jackson I totally disagree with Kerry (so it's not like we
have the same tastes in music) but I have to agree with her on this
one.
Stan Walker's singing is awful.
To me he sounds like a typical bro from South Auckland.
But you're right about him being a great role model and over time his
singing will get better.

I have no problem with that. However, his singing is bloody good.
He is on line to become a hit. He's young and raw, but I hear
something in there (that others don't obviously) that equates to
him becoming a great soul/R&B singer. There IS something about
the timbre of his voice and he does exercise a wide range of
control that I haven't seen in any other competitors, especially
as young as he.
I just hope he doesn't blow the opportunity because there *are*
plenty of sharks only too willing to push him wherever they can
see the $'s for themselves.

Well, him coming from an abusive family situation and having got
where he is today, yes. And that was my point. But, of course,
