It makes me cringe in disappointed despair why anyone may choose to
preserve an ordinary tussock desert landscape, that couldn't be more
boring, at the expense of a clean green renewable source of
electricity proposably enough to supply the entire South Island in a
few years.
Personally I think windmills add beauty to the landscape like spinning
flowers.
Not only do they look amazing but what they do is amazing giving
electricity to homes. helping people cook and wash their cloths listen
to music learn on the Internet.
Where the environmental court rule at this extremely nonsensical level
the Government should step in straight away and sack everyone on the
concerned committee.

sadly so do i.

I was back in Scotland a few years ago, i drove from Earlston to
Edinburgh over Soutra, there were dozens of the things, and I
thought that they were lovely. I even remarked to my neice, that
"you would think that it was windy enough up here without the big
fans", she looked puzzled, my sons laughed.

I agree, seeing them slowly spinning is relaxing and calming, much more
environmentally friendly then coal or nuclear power stations.
It just seems these people always need something to moan on about.
Bring them on....I went to a seaside town some time ago and they had
installed about 40 in the sea, it was very relaxing and far better then an
endless seascape, at night hey are lit up which again is nice to look at.

You think they should rely on importing energy when they can produce it
for themselves, and make money doing it????

Sure underground Coal plants or plants that have all the Chimney

Coal plants with chimneys polluting can cause respiratory ailments.

Like I wrote the Government should sack that environmental committee
and fast track Merridians initiative.
