Amusing the number of septic bloggers who are saying
their brave troops should not have to be alongside those
Royal Marine cowards.

Looks like Gordon Brown will be yanking all those Brit
troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan,do not want to upset
the yanks by having the Royals forced on them.

Could there be a military draft coming in jesusland,
they have a backdoor draft in place, with stop loss etc.

Don't call the Royal Marines cowards. Save that for the politicians who give
them their orders.

They are not cowards. In that situation I would expect individuals to say or
do whatever they have to to get out of the situation. If someone is going to
put his life in danger or have to undergo torture it should be for a very
good reason. The officer in charge would be negligent if he put his men in
harm's way unnecessarily. Nobody other than the Iranians would believe it
anyway. Meaningless heroics might be good in a Hollywood film but not in
real life.

It is the events and negligence leading up to their capture and the events
following their release which give cause for concern.

And you wonder why the armed forces sometimes get a few sitzpinklers in the
ranks?
