I know the going description of a double bedroom is a room in which
you can put a double bed. Unfortunately this does not mean much to me
and I was wondering if a double bedroom has a more quantitative
description e.g. minimum 10 sq metres or 3m by 3m wide etc.

4x4 would be small and 6x6 comfortable.

LOL! 6x6 is the size of a garage mate!

My last house in NZ we converted the whole downstairs to the master
bedroom, it was 17 m by 8 m. Our super king size bed looked tiny, but we
used it as an office also, while Mrs was studying, she could escape kids and
get some work done. Had tables, chairs, huge dressing tables, (x3) TV,
stereo, and spa pool in there. It was great.

Comfortable? I could fit four king-size beds in my 6X6 lounge with
plenty of room to spare. Or maybe you mean 6 feet x 6 feet? The door
would have to open outwards!

When I win Lotto the dream house is going to have a HUGE master bedroom!

At present, with our super king bed and 2 dressers, there's just enough
room to walk around the bed.

Not quite sure where we'll accommodate the second dog when we get it
later in the year (Murphy used to fit neatly on the floor next to my
side, but we're hoping to get a pup which will be twice her size when
fully grown, and our other dog is also a giant breed).

:o)

They'll probably take over the bed between them; you will be on the floor
alongside.

You can fit a double bed in and still open the door? I'm pretty sure
that's a real-estate agent's criteria anyway.

LOL probably ... they're about the size of human adults.

Thankfully when Murphy was still around our bed was *her* privileged
spot and she didn't let Elly get into the habit of getting on it when
we're in it, and that's persisted since Murphy shuffled off her mortal
coil. Plus a big shaggy dog gets too hot fairly quickly with all that
shared body heat, and buggers off back to the floor to cool down.

Nothing worse than slobber-soaked pillows - especially if you don't
notice they're soggy until you stick your head on them! :oP

mmmm crusty!

You need to *really* love dogs to have the big, slobbery ones!

There are also laws against exceeding the speed limit and being in control
of a motor vehicle whilst not carrying your driver's licence.
