3 May 2006 - Telecom rapes NZ again.
Declining numbers?
171180 messages were posted in nz.general last year, 161035 the year before
and 109430 in 2003. Maybe not through xtra though :)

That is 99,986 by janice and her alter ego's - plus 70,000+ by those
whose heads aren't permanently up the arse of a labour or green
politician.

And everybody - y'all come back now, hear? I mean that.
Ditto. This is sad- big greedy heartless telecom... Sorry they did this
to y'all knowing full well that some won't be able to switch ISPs in a
hurry. I mean with the disconnect fee and all that..

for someone who tells others to get a real life I bet you've got a
bunch of IDs and spend too much time in front of screens.

Well, he (it's probably a 'he') does deserve a small bit of credit for
spelling losers correctly.

I think this is appropriate at this stage:

Bye all!
The rot that has set in at Telecom and its retail outlet, Xtra, has made me
rethink my whole telecommunications structure. To date we have changed 15
mobile phones from Telecom to Vodafone. Step two is changing the office
phones to Telstra Clear. Step three is changing the office internet
connections to Paradise cable (Lower Hutt), and step five is new business
cards, letterheads etc.
Step 6 is getting myself organised with something other than Telecom
landline and ADSL at home here on the western hills, but that is easier said
than done. Shit I hate monopolies!
Where is our so called government and commerce commision?

I'm still here too. Maybe there is a delay while somebody on Xtra looks up
Wikipedia to findout what this USENET thang actually is....

They're too busy delaying the announcement on their preliminary decision to
establish a select committee created to decide the outcome of the delayed
decisions. Of course, this is all subject to a review by an independent
audit.
