When will they learn? It's **never** about the operating system. It's always
about the applications.
Mostly...
I use Macs because they work more closely to the way I work/think than
any other OS. However I also run XP in a VM as I need to run CAD
software which is Windows only.
The most expensive part of the computer now is the idiot at the
keyboard, and by making them the most productive they can be the cost of
the hardware/software differences between platforms changes. I have
people using Macs,Windows,Linux,Unix because that is the BEST choice for
their needs.
Rather like saying the 'popularity of the Post Office's Plain Ordinary
Telephone Service' in years gone by - you could not even provide your
own PABX but had to rent a Post Office one.

I can always count on PeterWhine to prove my point: Larry D'Loserites all in
a tizzy over Windows 7.
Macs are great, but again it's all down to the applications. If OsX
supported even most of my desktop apps, I'd surely run a Mac myself. Who
doesn't love those machines?! But....

That would be Apple's marketing pitch. But seriously -- those machines are
pricey. And since I'm quite sure that any 12-year-old today can become a
Windows power user as easily as they can a Mac power user, productivity is
really down to the applications needed -- and the budget. OsX supports a
wonderful range of professional-quality apps **except** when it comes to
databases and math/tech-oriented software. That's not a knock on Apple or
OsX -- just a fact that someone like me has to contend with when allocating
resources.

That's one of those heroic claims I really hate, because it could mean
anything depending on the criteria you set for "BEST". But ok, I'll take
ecumenical over fanatical any day.

We use them for the video editing suite, however we were encouraged to
move back to the PC platform as the newer edition of the PC version of
the software has a lot more features.
Indeed, but the irony. How is your foot?
Troll alert 2010 working well
Why are Larry D'Loserites so consistently lame?
