Startup Weekend is the world's biggest learning programme for entrepreneurs. If you want to develop some of the core skills needed to build startups, find potential co-founders and become part of the fast-growing and innovative NZ startup community, Startup Weekend is for you.
Some of the organisers and members of the PHP User Groups in Wellington and Auckland are going to Startup Weekend Taranaki which will be held in New Plymouth on 20-22 November. Hope some of you will join us to do some cool stuff up there.

Startup Weekend Taranaki is an intense 54-hour weekend, offering first-hand experience and skills to form a new product or business startup, whether that's a digital or traditional business ideas. Startup Weekend attendees work together, sharing and developing business ideas, coming away with a viable product or business by the end of the weekend. The best startup is selected by a group of judges from the region’s business community.
Startup Weekend is a global movement, originally started in the US, and known to produce the highest number of new entrepreneurs out of all programmes of its kind.
All residents are welcome to join Startup Weekend Taranaki, whether they have an idea or want to work as a team member, gaining first-hand experience about developing an idea into a viable business.
Startup Weekend has previously been held in 10 other NZ communities - i.e. Hawke's Bay, Southland, Queenstown, Wellington, Auckland, Tauranga and Nelson. There have been 35 events, with more than 2,300 participants, held under the national organisation Startup Weekend New Zealand.
