Hi there

I've just updated my public stats from an OIA from NZQA
Means you can look at NCEA data graphically for your school and also for different subjects / standards.
Access it here: https://stats.jpw.nz/

All free to access / share with whoever you'd like. Built using PowerBI.

Enjoy.

Thank you Jake. Our former AP sent this through, and you've opened my eyes to this fantastic tool that I never knew about. I'll look into PowerBI if I have the chance.

One comment on the data. I think it classifies all non-NCEA results as NA. Auckland Grammar and St. Peter's College, for example, have a lot of NA's, since they do Cambridge. Is there a way to add another category/categories for these results, or perhaps to exclude them altogether?

Thanks again for the fantastic work.

Hi Tim

Yes, unfortunately this data is based off the data solely from NZQA which is just NCEA data, so does report students who are doing Cambridge or IB as "NA" as that is how the data comes to me from NZQA.
There isn't any way for me to know who these students are, or which schools do this, so can't easily remove them, but it is something that affects the data.
I've added an extra note on the side about this to highlight that this will be an issue, but this is one of the reasons NZQA says that knowing the school contexts when looking at the data is important which I've tried to make an loud and bold as possible (without it looking silly).

Education Counts does have data on school leavers that leave with the equivalent of Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 which does take into account Cambridge or IB:
For example for Auckland Grammar students leaving with Level 1 or above equivalent:
But this data is looking at something different, and takes a lot longer to come out.

Jake.
