1. There are two roles of servant leadership namely: Visionary and
Implementation Roles. I do believe they are equally important as they
complement each other in getting the job done right. The dream/vision
may be good but if not properly executed will make no sense. VISIONARY
ROLE: To be an effective leader we need to clearly envision
possibilities where they seem unworkable. Those we lead must also
clearly see where we’re going, how we plan to get there and why we’re
doing it. Inspiring them by transferring the vision to them so they
can be sold to the idea that the greater good we intend to achieve at
least seems to be worth the risk. We have to be fervent, unmovable and
committed to the cause; stand firm and persevere through challenges
and setbacks, guiding our followers out of dead end situations. A
visionary does not settle for the mediocre, neither allows him/herself
to be conformed to the status quo or what the masses accept as normal.
He/she dares to be different and leads with passion and purpose. Our
whole duty (purpose) is to fear God and keep His commandments and with
that in mind, we will please Him at all times. Moses undertook the
important assignment of leading God’s people to the Promised Land.
Even when their unbelief caused them to wander in the desert, Moses
was there to push them along. He faced difficulties, discouragement
set in and those he counted on started to blame him. He had to cry out
to God at one point to let Him know he was “unable to bear this people
alone, it is too heavy.” (Num.11:14 ) Regardless of what he felt he
still believed what God had promised. As his faith in God grew he
strengthened the people and was obedient to the heavenly calling
always. IMPLEMENTATION ROLE: By any means necessary, we should bring
the gospel to all people. We empower and support those we lead by
demonstrating Christ in our every word and action, not sending them
mixed signals. When our behavior is not consistent with what our
religion professes, it not only reflects poorly on us but on our
religion as well. We should let His Word be a “lamp unto our feet and
a light to our path.” Those looking up to us should see steadfast
leaders who will go the extra mile to preach and teach Christ. The new
visions we present will show up imperfections. This will rile up the
believers and beneficiaries of the status quo but we must remain
focused, thus motivating our followers. In carrying out the vision we
should remember that “we can do all things through Christ who
strengthens us.” With Christ at the helm, we can go through the fiery
furnace without one hair on our body being burned.
2. My mission is to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ. My aim is to glorify God by inspiring and
equipping people to lead like Jesus. I want to establish a working
relationship with Christians who have committed their lives to Christ
through prayer and intercession. We will teach biblically sound
doctrine and practice wise stewardship of time, talent and influence.
A key focus of the mission is to also encourage, inspire and uplift
able-bodied, spirit- filled workers who will Exalt God Only so they
can fulfill their calling in God by carrying out the missional
mandate.
3. The fruit of our leadership is what we pass on to the next
generation of leaders. In order to properly equip them to meet the
various challenges they face today, we as servant leaders must
continually pattern our lives off Christ’s. We need to first seek the
Kingdom of God and His righteousness so we’ll be guided by the Holy
Spirit always. Only then will we be able to properly guide them as
they see us living out the gospel by demonstrating our devotion to
God. Teaching our faith by living it is the greatest legacy we can
give them that will transform their lives and catapult them into
having vital relationships with God. When they come to know the Truth
(Christ) for themselves, their faith will be firm and they’ll make
godly choices more often than not. The torch will have been passed on
from us with a brightly burning flame that will draw their peers to
also come to know Christ as their personal Savior. May mercy, love and
peace be multiplied to you all.

(1)The two roles of servant leadership are; A visionary role and an
implementation role.
I agree that they are two sides of the same coin. Jesus is our
perfect example and while on earth he demonstrated the traits and
character of a servant leader. A servant leader leads by setting
course and direction and serve by empowering and supporting others in
implementation. As servant leaders we set our goals i.e. what do we
want to achieve and how do we intend to get there. We will only be
effective leaders if we have a clear view of where we want to go and
will view the people I lead as an asset, a customer and serve them and
be responsive to their needs as Jesus served His disciples. A servant
leader is both responsible and responsive.
(2)Vision Statement:
Advance the Kingdom of God
Mission Statement:
We exist to advance the kingdom of God through reaching, teaching,
equipping and sending young people to do God’s will.

(3)When Jesus left earth his disciple were well prepared to fulfill
the Great commission. (Matt 28:16) Jesus illustrated the role of a
leader and he requires no less of us. He said in John 14:12 he who
believes in me will also do the works that I do and greater. We will
only see great results when we provide our young people with what is
necessary to make them grow and develop into our tomorrow’s leaders.
We should consistent and persistent even when it seen rough and tough
and keep focus on our goal with an endeavor to fulfill our purpose in
serving God and others, keeping in mind we are held accountable at a
higher level which is by God. I pray I will be the servant leader God
wants me to be.

1. The visionary role and the implementation role are two sides of one
coin. Many leaders think that the "bosses" are the visionaries of an
organization and the "Managers" implements. But for a leader that is
seeking to lead like Jesus he/she would take on the role of both the
visionary and the one who implements. The authors did a great job
describing these roles by illustrating a right side up pyramid where
the leaders speak the vision (responsibility) and the followers
(respond) and then the pyramid is flipped upside down (the
implementation of the vision) where the followers are on the top
(responsibility) and the leaders are on the bottom (respond).

2. Our youth ministry is in the process of being birthed right now so
in our leadership meeting we are talking about what our vision and
mission is. In our Sunday School/Children Ministry we are also
narrowing down what our vision and mission is.

3. Powerful statement. I was recently listening to one of Pastor Bill
Johnson's Teaching and he was saying that he has yet to seen a revival
being transferred or pass down to another generation because we failed
to put a language to what is happening/how to maintain this revival to
the next generation (so the momentum dies). A servant leader always
leads as if to leave a legacy when he/she passes or when their season
is finished there. I would go as far to say a leader (who if not
present, everything fails) is not really a good leader. Like the book
calls it he/she is a self-serving leader. Leaders must train and equip
the next generation for greater. I don't really know all that Jesus
meant when He said "greater works shall we do" but these are words
that He spoke from His mouth and those words are life; life produces
so if Jesus spoke those words 2,000 years ago and now we are in 2012,
if we were really on target we should have been seeing God move
mightily through His followers doing these "greater, greater, greater,
greater works". Each generation should supercede the preceeding one in
these "greater works". But none of that can be done if the next
generation are only spectators and not participators in what is going
on right now.
Another thing this does is create a form of religion and idols whether
we like it or not. In many sects, cults and other religion, the
leaders (the ones who are high up there) hold all the precious
information of anything that is happening with the rest of their
followers. So a leader not only leads but he/she raises up leaders who
will today and one day do what they are doing, even better.

The two roles of servant leadership are visionary and implementation
roles and I do agree that they are two sides of the same coin. Our
savior Jesus Christ left us a perfect model of a servant leadership
and visionary role whereby He told the disciples exactly what His
mission was but at times they did not get it. His mission was clearly
defined in Isaiah 60:1-3, which we can somewhat summarize in verse
one, He was anointed to preach the good news to the poor in spirit,
bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim freedom for the captives and
release prisoners from darkness from the enemy(Devil) hands.
Throughout Jesus Ministry recorded in the Gospels, we see the
implementation of his mission which led Him to accomplished his final
goal, which was the will of Father that He should gave His life as
ransom for our sins. Having done that and being resurrected from the
dead, and with Jesus being at the right hand of the Almighty God our
Father, Now we can say there is a bright future or a wonderful vision
for all those who put their trusts in Him and obey His commandments.

My youth ministry mission and vision statement read like this " Our
youth ministry exists to Honor Christ Jesus our Lord with our lives,
to Encourage one another, to Draw the young generation to Christ, to
Instruct them the word of God to do Ministry".

"The fruit of a great servant leadership is realized when a leader
seeks to send the next generation of leaders to meet the challenge of
their season with all the wisdom, knowledge and spiritual resources he
or she can provide". This statement should really be the aspiration of
each and everyone of us who are servant leaders for Christ. Our goals
in ministry should be to arm our young generation for their battles so
that they are well-equipped to win the next generation for Christ.
Also, that we may be considered good stewards of the kingdom and not
the last generation. May God help us!

The two roles of servant leadership are:
Visionary Role of leadership which sets the course and the destination, this role
maximizes the result for everyone concerned.
Implementation role of leadership does things right with a focus on serving and
empowering others in implementation.  So I agree that there are two sides of the
same coin.

The mission and vision statement our youth ministry is that they are Youth in Action,
who will spread the good news about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The fruit of great leadership is realized when a leader seeks to send the next generation
of leaders to meet the challenge of their season with all the wisdom, knowledge and
spiritual resources he or she can provide.  First  it is our duty as leaders to live a life that's
grounded in Christ so the people we serve will see Christ in us, we should also demonstrate
both visionary and implementation roles of leadership so that will help those who come after
us to meet the challenges, by teaching them what is required of them and how to go about
doing it.

1. Visionary and implementation roles are two important roles of servant leadership. I agree, they are two sides of the same coin due to the fact that they both are vital counterparts of an effective leader. Leadership requires vision. It helps set the course and the destination. Implementation is based on doing the right things while focusing on serving others.

2. The vision for our Youth department is to touch the lives of youths with the gospel of Christ, teaching them precepts of Christ, training them to be ambassadors for Christ, and trusting them to use their gifts in fulfilling the mission Of Christ in (Matt.28:19,20.NKJV).

Our mission is to be a body of young people dedicated for Service in the kingdom of God, by Equipping ourselves in the Word of God, Building healthy Relationships with others, be a people of Virtue, Interceding for all people, be Compassionate to all people, and Evangelism.

3.I agree with this statement wholeheartedly! How will the next generation know how to lead? It is important to teach the upcoming generation of leaders because they have to help "train" the upcoming generation. One of the best ways to learn new things and learn about oneself is to complete the task. An example of this is trying to win souls to Christ. Leaders from the new generation have the vigor that is needed to connect with and reach their peers as well as other unsaved people. Those from the old generation can reiterate and teach the content, practices and great wisdom from the past to those of the new generation. Doing this will satisfy the needs of both generations.

The two roles to to a servant leadership are visionary and
implementation roles. With Jesus being our main example we see where
his vision of reconciling a fallen people was implementated in the way
he ministered to the people who followed him. His diciple learned
first hand what it meant to forgive, have faith , be fishers of men
and so much more all of whivh is important in being a servant leader .
Therefor i do belive that these two roles are equally important
because with out proper vision how will you what you are working
towards and without implementation our vision will go nowhere.

My mission is to lead a youth department who will be strong servant
leaders commited to being fishers of men . Helping to advance the
kingdom of God in a way that will be pleasing to God . To raise up a
new generation of christian who are radical for God a nation who will
seek Gods face and practice his principles at alll times so that this
generation wont be the last christian generation. A department where
the lord's will and desire is fulfilled in us

It is our duty as true servant leaders to equip others to carry on the
work of christ because wheter by death or appointment our time will be
up one day and if we dont equip them to do the will of God then they
will fall short of the mark and this world will truely be hopeless and
miserable we need to teach them how to exalt God only instad of
edinging god out so they can be effective in thier doings.
