                   LEARNING STYLES PART 3
Functioning effectively in any professional capacity requires
working well in all learning style modes. And the sample lessons have
helped me tremendously in preparing future lessons for my students.
They are especially helpful in that the author has covered all age
ranges so I am not limited to reaching only the youths but adults as
well. Each week in this course my eyes have been opened anew; not only
was I using ‘my comfortable’ method for everyone but was also losing
most of the students, probably turning them away from Sunday school.
My way of instructing was favoring only students who share my learning
style and as each bring diverse needs to the classroom , they ought to
be taught in different ways. I will start using the 45-60 mins. To
reach all students so they discover meaning in the material presented.
Use of posters, maps and diagrams will help to stretch their
imaginations allowing them to find their strengths and weaknesses, so
they can get more out of the learning experience.( There’s a
particular student who gets next to nothing out of the lesson on
Sundays. He makes it his business to run downstairs and get chairs for
those who are late. I now know he is a Common Sense Learner who can
probably learn by making posters, he’s definitely a doer.)
Even though each person has his/her natural preference, my job
is to encourage them to develop skills in the other three styles. More
emphasis will be placed on their personal growth, encouraging group
work and group discussions so all can find meaningful goals. Creating
affective classroom environments will definitely stimulate them, also
encouraging them to act on their own visions, fostering self awareness
and creativity.
In short, I will help students build skills in their preferred
and less preferred modes of learning, making sure that their needs are
met at least part of the time. God’s blessings on you all.

“The true object of Education is to restore the image of God in the
soul.” Ellen G. White Therefore as Parent and a leader it is incumbent
upon me to design a way to impart the faith to my children and young
people that is more like the HEBREW MODEL of education. I must teach
them to see God for who he is and lead them to respond properly to
him. Parents and leaders have the greatest influence on the lives of
their children. Biblical truth must be taught from Christians parents
who will live an exemplified life of faith consistently. I must
teach them to see God for who he is and lead them to respond to him in
a way that will bring transformation to their lives. Hence we will
produce young people who exhibit orthodoxy and orthopraxy, “right
teaching and right actions.” Our young should be taught to openly
define their identity and emphasize their reason for their lives and
behavior. They should not be afraid or ashamed to own Jesus Christ
whoever they go. Their every day life should be lived reflecting
Christ. Write his words on the table of our heart. We should teach
them to talk about Christ wherever they go and like the children of
Israel they should write the word of God on our walls, doorsteps and
gates and most of all on the table of their hearts. It was just last
week I decided I would decorate my kid’s rooms with the word of God.
So I got papers and markers and artistically showcase words such as I
am fearfully and wonderfully made, I am special, pray always, be
persistent, I can do all things.. etc. This is done by means of
emphasis. The Hebrew Education model portrays our actions to be
equivalent to our beliefs. Right belief should produce right
actions. The goal is to live out the truth and in doing so their
lives will be transformed. It will be evident that they are learning
when it is reflected in their attitudes and behavior, which is
demonstrated in the relationship to God and others. Our goal is not
to stuff the heads, but to change their lives.
My goal is to reveal the God of Redemption and Relationship to our
young people as John puts in Revelation 3:20 “Behold I stand at the
door and knock, if any man hears my voice and open the door, I will
come in and sup with him and he with me. Since the fall of mankind
from the Garden of Eden, God has created a master plan to reclaim man
back to him. In demonstration of His love for us, he sent his only
son to die to bridge the gap. Hence we now have access to the
relationship we once had with him. However this relationship is a
personal one, and requires a permanent responsibility. Therefore our
young people should be taught to accept the gift of redemption for
Jesus Christ has already paid the price and moved into a close
relationship with God through reading the word, worshiping and prayer.
God bless you all.

                         THE LAST CHRISTIAN GENERATION
1. I cannot reiterate enough “To Teach Is To Live; Example Is The Best
Teacher.” To learn by rote does not show that we’ve actually learnt
something .We may say the ‘right’ things but it’s what we do that
sends the clearest message as it stays in the memory much longer. One
of the attributes of true Christian character is a willingness to
encourage and lift people. When we (exhorters) find ourselves in
difficulty, do we cry “woe is me” and slump about as hopeless people?
No, we remember the name of the Lord who takes our right hand and tell
us not to fear. Those who KNOW the way should GO the way and SHOW the
way, not ‘do as I say not as I do.’
I absolutely love the Hebraic way of teaching. The things of God
are deeply entrenched in the heart from an early age so we will, as
David said “not sin against Him.” Children are imitators so they
should see us living godly lives from they are babies. Not everyone
follow Christ as youths so for those of us who’ve accepted Him as our
Savior as adults, it’s important to establish godly attitudes, habits
and beliefs in the lives of our children. When we are entrusted with
the task of nurturing the youths in whatever capacity we have to be
mindful of our obligations. I was told of someone who visited a church
and a lady with big position in the church went up and said some
wonderful things. As soon as she took her seat, she was seen, along
with others, snickering and mocking someone. IN CHURCH!!With young
people around, WHO ARE NOT BLIND!! You can be sure that visitor will
not revisit that church. We should, as Christians endeavor to pattern
the Jewish way of teaching: LIVING BY EXAMPLE.
2. To reveal the God of Redemption and Relationship we have to expound
the powerful and believable fact that Jesus Christ is the one true Son
of God. He left the splendor of heaven and took on the form of sinful
flesh so we could have eternal life. By His death on the cross we were
redeemed from sin and judgment, and in order to show gratitude, we
have to live a life of ‘spontaneous praise.’ We do not have to set a
date or time for praising Him as our lights should continuously shine.
When we fully appreciate Him for who He is and what he has done, we’ll
have no trouble in falling prostrate before Him as Isaiah did. We are
commissioned to disciple the nations, teaching them to obey His
commandments. We cannot accomplish this through self so it’s of utmost
importance that we imitate Christ in our everyday lives. He communed
with his Father so we have to invite the Holy Spirit to have an
intimate relationship with us. This allows us to make godly choices so
those been discipled can learn to make godly decisions as well.
Through prayer, knowledge of the will of God will be revealed through
His Holy Word; the God of relationship has to be communed with on a
regular basis so our relationship with Him can remain strong. Our
bodies should be presented as holy vessels for His purpose; we must
recognize that every man shall face Him on Judgment Day because He
being, the Righteous Judge will judge everything that we have done. He
has the power over life and death and on that day we all will see Him
as He is so we need to commit our ways to Him while he may be found.
God’s covenant with mankind defines His relationship with us so we
must properly respond to Him in love expressed by loyalty to the
covenant He established. Live as a ‘holy nation, royal priesthood’
redeemed sanctified people not in ‘word or tongue but truth and deed.’
May the peace of God guard your hearts and mind from this day onward.

we have read and came to the conclusion that the best method to use to
teach our young people the true foundations of the gospel is to use
the Hebrew model of education where the the goal is to live out the
truth which lead to transformation instead of the Hellenistic model
which is mere memorization of repeatable facts according to McDowell.
The way to change the education model we use today is to teach our
youths the truth and act as a coach to help them properly respond to
it. We have to live out the truth before them and challenge/encourage
them to follow it, they must know that they should only follow us as
we follow Christ, because He is the true model. We have to let them
know as human beings we may fail but they should never dwell in
failure but with the help of the Holy Spirit, they should continue to
strive to be like their lord and savior who walked in perfect
obedience to the will of God the Father. We also have to emphasize the
blessed hope we have in Christ that our home is not here below but we
are pilgrims looking forward to the day of the return of our redeemer
who is coming back soon to take us with him. Therefore having a
relationship with him that is based on faith and obedience that shows
our love for our master is the key to life eternal with Him, where
there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain but love,
joy and peace for all eternity. This is not a dream but a promised
reality for all those who trust in Christ Jesus. He is compassionate
and abounding in love for all His saints who walked according to his
will. What a bright hope and future we have for tomorrow in Christ,
there is none like it and there is no one like our Savior, He is the
only way. God Bless!

1. How will you change your education model?
After reading what Josh McDowell stated in chapter seven, I will
definitely change my education model to the Hellenistic one. I love
that the goal is not to merely memorize facts, but to “live-out the
truth”! McDowell hits the nail on the head in that doing so will lead
to transformation. Transformation is the ultimate goal as a Christian.
People should be able to tell we are Christians by our entire being
(actions, conversations, etc.), not by the amount of scriptures we
know or can recite.

2. How will you reveal the God of redemption and relationship?
We must live a life of faith, worship and prayer. Living a life of
faith “needs to be learned and cultivated”. This generation needs to
learn that being a Christian means that at times, we will not be able
to physically see things, but we have to live by faith. “It enables
one to grow in the midst of heartaches, suffering and tragedy”. Living
a life of worship basically means sacrificing your interests and focus
on God. Romans 12:1 says “…offer your bodies as a living sacrifice…”.
It requires daily renewal. Living a life of prayer promotes spiritual
growth. “If the young people of this generation are to develop
spiritually, relationally, and emotionally, this has to happen while
exercising prayer”. God speaks to us through prayer therefore it is
vital to our growth. Doing all these things, will help reveal the God
of redemption and relationship.

The Last Christian generation pages
1. How will you change your education model?

The Hebrew Model of education in which is not just memorization and
the ability to regurgitate what was taught on an exam or test. The
goal is to live a Christ-like life. In this model truth should lead to
the transformation of our young people; learned through practice. It
is not evident the student has learned anything through recitals
however through the application of those truths to their daily lives.
In order to lead our young people to living a Christ-like right life
we have to first be living by example. The transformation needs to be
clear in you so that they see that it’s not You, it’s the God in you.
I have young girls that aspire to be like me, they say “I want to be
like you when I grow up” and I reply “God has already planned and
promised that you will be the best you when you grow up” I recently I
had a young sister 17, so focused on getting a new phone and dues for
the prom. She recently started babysitting and saved up about $150
she already had the monies planned out “I want this, then I am working
more then I’m getting that”. I said well did you pay your tithes? She
looked so puzzled as if it were only an adult thing to do, she said,
“I don’t know how”. I shared the scripture with her “Bring ye all the
tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and
prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you
the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall
not be room enough to receive it.” Mal 3:10
I got out an envelope and we went over why and how to tithe and give
offering. She was so proud when she took her tithe envelop to pastor.
It was remarkable the effects of not only teaching but the
interaction, and encouraging her to trust God and his word.
Christianity is a transformation, and when you see it in those you
admire and love you thirst to learn more. The greatest transformation
I’ve seen is in my Father it still amazes me what God can do. He wakes
up reading his Bible studying, watching programs, listening to gospel,
just a whole 360, he stays in his word and delights in sharing at any
given moment, teaches Sunday School etc. Each time I came home I could
see him diving deeper and deeper into the word, I was so amazed by his
transformation it intrigued me to want more. We need to be the
Spiritual transformation models which declares and demonstrates the
truth to our young people. There is no such thing as cramming all
night to be a Christian, I want to implode our young people’s minds
until Gods word and promises overflow their hearts and releases a
thirst to learn, know, and live a Christ-like life.

2.How will you reveal the God of redemption and relationship?

Reveal the God of redemption and relationship to our young people
through encouraging and exemplifying: The importance of living a
faith based life; it will aid them during the times of uncertainty and
guide them in growing spiritually by not just believing but working
their faith. Life of Worship, God wants us to worship him whole
heartedly, revere and honor him, sacrificing daily interest to just
focus on him, sparking that desire to want to know him. Life of
Prayer, to develop spiritually, relationally, and emotionally a prayer
life is developed. God speaks to us though his Word and his Holy
Spirit in developing a relationship our young people need to speak to
him in prayer and practice the prayer of Praise, Thanksgiving,
Confession, Petition, and Intercession.

I will change my education model by not only telling the young people about
God but by allowing them to participate in the actual singing, praying and the
total acts of Worship. The author stated that goal the Hebrew model of education
is to live-out the truth which will bring transformation.

The God of redemption and relationship can be revealed by instilling in them a
reverence for the God of love and mercy, the God who is the source of all good
things, the God that is the Judge of good and evil, the God who holds the power
of life and death and to reverence God because he promises blessing for those
who fear and honor him.
