LEARNING STYLES PART IV- METHODS OVERVIEW & CH. 9
Learning modalities are the sensory channels through which people
give, receive and store information. These senses include Visual,
Auditory, Tactile/Kinesthetic, smell and taste. An effective way to
reach all students is modality based instruction. Most learn with all
modalities but some have unusual strengths and weaknesses in all
modalities. Here are some of the ways in which the different
modalities are used. VISUAL LEARNERS: These learn by seeing so they
need to see overheads, diagrams and read text books to understand a
concept. Also, they tend to observe body language and facial
expressions for content and learn through demonstrations and
descriptions. They have well developed imaginations and often think in
picture. Too much movement or action may however, cause distraction.
AUDITORY LEARNERS: Must hear what they are learning to fully
understand, they enjoy listening but also love to talk things through
themselves. They respond well to lectures and discussions, verbal
directions or written information may help clarify instructions. Too
much noise may be distracting so they learn best in quiet
environments.
TACTILE LEARNERS: Prefer activities or projects that allow them to use
their hands as they need to feel and touch to learn.
KINESTHETIC LEARNERS: Learn through physical sensations and may have
trouble sitting still for long periods as they learn best when
movement is involved.

As a leader it is important for me to understand who I am and what I
do best, with a clear understanding of how to share who Christ is and
what he offers and how a person should respond to him in every aspect
of their lives.
My primary focus should not be on the amount of persons in my group
but on rising up true followers of Christ. The focus of process
driven ministry is not towards attendance, but towards revealing God
for who He is and leading people to a proper response to him so they
can become more like Christ.
I am challenged to be totally committed to God and maintain an
intimate relationship with him which is not sustained by mere acts of
doing for another but by learning and giving him my heart, soul and
mind, and to help others to do likewise. God bless you all

THE LAST CHRISTIAN GENERTATION CH. 11-12
In order to do the will of God, we must be process driven, not program
driven. Our sole purpose is to serve Him so He need to be in an
active, intimate relationship with us; He wants it all, not just our
works but our entire beings- heart, mind, soul and body. Every day
with Him should feel like the “honeymoon” stage when love is fresh and
new. Knowing that we serve a God of Redemption, Relationship and
Restoration should rein us in even when we’re ‘slightly’ tempted to
stray.
We’re given gifts by God and to be effective in Ministry, we need to
stir them so they will be used in service to Him. When the line of
communication between us and God remains free and open, He will allow
us to see clearly which Ministry our gifts are suited for.
When we know who we are and whose we are, we will continually focus
on our God given talents so we can do our part to carry out the Great
Commission. To be mission focused we have to serve the spiritual,
social and relational needs of both our church membership and the
community at large. God saved us, through His grace, not just for
ourselves but to launch us into His Kingdom so we can “reach the lost
at any cost.” Go beyond our own needs by reaching out, gathering in,
spreading the Gospel whenever the need arises. To effectively carry
out God’s command, we have to go through a process of transformation
and grow in Christ in order to become Christ like.
Model servant leadership to the youth and” train ourselves for
godliness” (1 Tim 4:7) Pray without ceasing to get rid of ingrained
sinful habits, relationships and systems which fallen people erect in
opposition to the will and ways of Almighty God. Flesh with its
desires and lusts have been crucified with Christ so we should not
allow them to rear their ugly heads in our lives, but stay buried.
Studying the Word and living it as the Hebrews do, will encourage
others to change their lifestyles for the better. Deepening our
pleasure in God’s Word will cause Him to give us the ability to
understand and apply them to our daily lives.
“Church growth and church health should not satisfy the needs of one
group and create barriers to reaching others”. Everything should be
done to incorporate all generations in whatever is taking place. Each
generation has its own preferences how it learns, leads and interacts
with each other, so we need to adjust our thinking and be versatile so
no one will be left out. MAY THE PEACE OF GOD THAT SURPASSETH ALL
UNDERSTANDING GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS.

The Last Christian Generation Chapters 9 and 11

These two chapters resonated with me. Beginning with chapter 9,
McDowell talks about the God of relationships. God is someone who
desires that from us; to have an intimate relationship with Him. That
only happens when we make time for him like we would any person of
value. When we do this, our relationship with other people becomes
more “manageable” in that He teaches us more about ourselves and other
people so that we can deal with them in a way that honors Him. Page
131 lists practical ways we can imitate Christ and show His love to
others.

Chapter 11 continues by discussing process-driven ministry. As I have
never heard that term before, process-driven ministry simply means to
not be limited to just “doing” things for the kingdom of God, but as a
leader to maintain an intimate relationship with Christ in order to
effectively execute ministry. The chapter goes on to ask what I
consider thought provoking questions that help us leaders remember the
reason why we do what we do. I believe this chapter helps us remind
ourselves not to get caught up in “ministry hype” (just doing things
to show people how much of a Christian you are by being busy), but to
use our gifts and talents and God’s help to impact the young people so
it wont be the last Christian generation.

The Last Christian Generation chpts. 9 & 10

As youth leaders/workers our task is to reveal to the young generation
the God that we serve who is our Heavenly Father, is a God of
relationships. As children of the Most High God we need to have an
intimate relationship with our Father that is based on trust, faith
and love. His Spirit live inside of us as a deposit to confirm our son-
ships. He desires to transform us into his likeness so that others may
see that we belong to Him as a testimony to them. He wants to become
more and more at home in our hearts so that we can experience his
love, patience and joy in our daily lives. As sons and daughters He
wants us to be more like him in speech, walk and actions. His word is
there to mold and shape us in the likeness of his dear son Jesus
Christ, who love us so much and was willing to leave all his glory to
take on our human nature to offer himself as a substitute in our place
to save us. For the wages of sin is death. we were destined for death
and hell but Jesus Christ our savior has triumphed over sins and death
and now hold the key to death and is able to save all those who hear
his voice and obey his command to surrender themselves to the will of
God the Father and His Holy Spirit who helps us make choices that are
right. Having an intimate relationship with our Father will lead us to
understand and obey his word which is truth, and the truth will set us
free. Free to love Him and love others and desiring that they would
come to the knowledge of Him and be conformed to His likeness for a
blessed future with Him in a restored kingdom in a new heaven and a
new earth. This is the hope our young generation need. As leaders we
need to help them join the fight for their eternal future. Satan, the
evil one, our enemy is not going to give up without a fight. Therefore
we need to arm ourselves with the full armor of God so that we can
stand firm against all the devil's schemes.(Ephesians 6:11)
We need not worry about the battle for it has been won by our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, so let us continue to
labor and fight the good fight for our victory is sure in Jesus name.
To Him be praise and glory, honor, wisdom and thanks and honor and
power and strength for ever and ever. Amen! Rev.7:12.

The Last Christian Standing
Learning to love others as God loves us is something that we are daily
tested in. It is a process within our spiritual growth that we learn
to love just as God loves us and make choices that are evident of
living a Christ-Like life. We as the leaders within the church must
serve as an example to our young people and exemplify to them that
developing this relationship will guide them through life with his
Word and Spirit. Developing this relationship with God first
experiencing all the love he has for us and the ability to share that
love with others and build meaningful long lasting relationships. We
need to assist our young people in understanding the word that it is
so much more than a self-help book; we can rely on his living
Word.
It’s also crucial to realize that relationships are not built on
initial experience alone or by small acts of kindness toward one
another. Similar to a marriage God wants us to be with him by
relinquishing our hearts, souls, and minds until relational intimacy
is experienced. Josh McDowell refers to four questions that assist
him and his ministry in keeping the focused on the spiritual formation
process. I plan on taking these steps back to the team and really
taking that next step into examining ourselves first, strengthening
our relationships with God to ensure that it is none of us and all of
him. That our God given talents are uplifting him and that we are
making an impact on our young people, not just through great
programming with awesome participation and attendance but whatever God
has planned for us to leave our young people thirsting for more of him
and drawer nearer to him.
1.Who are you as an individual and what is your ministry? (What are
your special gifts? What Is your Ministry? ) Know what your
strengths and weaknesses are and that there is someone else that can
fill in those gaps.
2. Why do you exist as a ministry?
3. Where are we going as a ministry?
4. How are we going to get there as a ministry?

Chapter 10 - This chapter tells us how the God of restoration gave us his unified body which is
the community of believers to be there for each other and engage in his mission to reach a lost world,
which will restore God's original intent to have a personal relationship with every believer.  It also urges us
to help our young people arm themselves for the battle of restoration by learning to live a life of faith, worship,
prayer and love for others and by making godly choices. It went on to say that God gave us his life to
transform our lives, his Spirit and his Word to become intimate with him and he gave us his body, the
Church, to usher in his eternal kingdom.

Chapter 12 - Characteristics of a Process-Driven Ministry tells us that our children and young people need
models, people who demonstrate what a follower of Christ sounds and look like.  It went on to say that
Churches can take a giant step toward saving future generations of Christians by bringing parents and
children and teenagers together at church-sponsored meetings and providing on-the-job parental training.
