Phase III

A. The four stages of learning a new task or skill, and what is the
role of the Leader at each stage?:

1. Novice
2. Apprentice
3. Journeyman
4. Master/Teacher

The role of the leader at each stage is: To bring a clear
understanding of the journey through each stage
as the leader is committed to the development of our youths and to
welcome them into the learning process, and invest time
and energy to teach and disciple. We as leaders must help our
youths to get excited about their lives, and to guide
them along the way and give them the tools they need (the
disciplines, and all that we have learned), that will advance
our precious young people through the learning process, and become
master teachers.

At each stage, a servant leader will stay focus and give extensive,
basic, and clear instructions on what to do, and how to
do it, like Jesus did with His disciples and take them from the
call "...come follow me...to the great commission "....go
ye therefore into all the world..." Leaders must be effective,
accept responsibility, and be alert to the peer pressures,
apathy, and a feeling of lost competence or connection our young
people can be challenged with. We can achieve master teachers,
in each group of our youths in the Blessed Church of God, youths
with confidence, fully developed skills, and motivation to
produce excellent results as an individual child of God, and wisdom
and insight to be living examples, dare to be a Daniel
and pass on what we teach them to the next generation of learners -
and I gave them my blessing, my time, God has provided a
new job for me ...(Thanks Dr. Smith for that seven days prophecy
you delivered at our Church, it did manifested in my life...) which
will allowed me the time I was yearning for to go to Bible School for
higher learning, I am tempted to do other things with that time come
September,
but thanks be to God, I will do my spiritual learning as I
promised, so I can be a better leader and Lead like Jesus, thanks to
this course.

B. The five habits Jesus applied that countered the negative forces in
His life:

1. Solitude
2. Prayer
3. Study and Application of Scripture
4. Accepting and Responding to God's unconditional love
5. Involvement in supportive relationships

My view on - An Accountability Group Model is:

Jesus is our Servant Leader and He did live the AGM lifestyle, he
asked the woman at the well
personal questions, she had to fess up. He teaches us to be
vulnerable, to be thruthful, to be human, "... and people
sometimes know our imperfections long before we reveal them." pg.
182.
We need to be real, young people do not like fake people, if in the
past or present, we were or we are struggling
with an issue we see them struggling with we should share it, this
will help them to receive your feedback with
joy and we will all be able to bond together as a team, we are our
brother's keeper. This can be done for us as Leaders or during
our Youth Group Services.

C. As a Leader, I can use this AGM to help my students become better
Christians by:

Being an example of the believers, to lead like Jesus, to apply the
five key habits that countered the negative
forces in Jesus life to my life, to be effective, to listen to our
young people, to have compassion for them, to
disclose and share task-relevant information, be confidential, give
advise only as requested, and do not perform
any "open heart surgery"....I will leave that to the Holy Spirit,
and hopefully by God's grace my students will become
better Christians, but the main one is for me to be an example.

A. There are four stages of learning a new task or skill, and each
leader plays a role in each stage. The first stage is the Novice
stage. This is the stage at which the individual is just starting out
to accomplish a particular task. It is the responsibility of the
leader to provide all necessary information, as to the what, when,
where and how. The leader should state the goal or goals and how we
intend to achieve them. The leader should be someone who has interest
in the individual development and is willing to invest hi/her time and
energy to teach. The second stage is the Apprentice stage. These are
people in training who have not yet mastered the information and
skills to work alone. The role of the leader is to assure, correct,
guide, motivate and encourage the individual. The third stage is the
journeyman, someone who is able to work on his own. It is the role of
the leader to inform the journeyman of when and where to apply their
skills, and should be there to encourage, appreciated and inspire the
individual. The final stage is the Master/teacher stage. These are
individuals with fully developed skills, confidence and motivation to
teach others. Leaders should give them the opportunity to pass on
what they have learned to the next generation.

B. The five habits Jesus applied that countered the negative forces in
his life are;
1. Solitude
2. Prayer
3. Study and application of Scripture
4. Accepting and responding to gods unconditional love
5. Involvement in supportive relationships
An Accountability Group Model is something every leader should
consider doing. It will help people to stay pure and faithful to
God. Individuals can overcome sins through open confession as the
group prays for each other. It creates fellowship among each member,
and a sense of being love and cared for. We will therefore become our
brother’s keeper and will not hesitate to seek God on their behalf.
I can use this model to help my students to be open, true to
themselves and others and to be accountable to each other. They will
understand that everyone has struggles and weaknesses, openly pray for
them and accept Gods love and forgiveness, believing that God has the
power to transform their lives into becoming master leaders. It will
help them to develop trust and a regular prayer life building healthy
relationship with others.
This has been an awesome experience for me. Certainly I have been
transformed. To God be the glory. To all participants,
Congratulations! I wish for you all God’s blessings as you give of
yourselves to the benefit of others. May we be to them what God has
called us to be, and serve understanding that we are accountable to
the higher master. God bless you al

A. There are four stages of learning a new task or skill. NOVICE: a
person new to and inexperienced in a job or situation and is also
known by the term “green.” A novice is also one who has entered a
religious order and is on probation before taking vows. The role of
the leader in the novice’s life is to provide information, guide him
along in a step-by-step process and should ALWAYS be around.
APPRENTICE: usually one who is learning a trade from a skilled
employer having agreed to work for a fixed period at low wages. He has
some knowledge of the job but needs to have someone more mature to
push, reassure even cajole if necessary so he can stick to the task at
hand. This is the job of the leader. JOURNEYMAN: someone who has
completed an apprenticeship and is fully educated in a particular
field, yet has not mastered it. He has to submit to someone who not
only know the job but has also mastered it. The leader’s job is to
encourage and inspire and tell the journeyman when and where to apply
their skills. MASTER/TEACHER: a highly skilled, disciplined,
professional person in a particular art or activity. In this instance,
the Master is the leader who exhibits a high level of commitment and
confidence. He is always in the loop and is ever ready to help those
in need.
B. The five habits Jesus applied that countered the negative forces in
His life are as follows: SOLITUDE: He sought out the solitary places
on a regular basis to commune with His Father showing us that in order
to be on point, we also need to do the same. PRAYER: our means of
communicating with our Heavenly Father. This should be done quite
regularly to keep the relationship alive thus preventing us from going
astray. STUDY: This is of utmost importance because the main weapon of
our warfare is the Word of God. We have to pore over it daily and
commit it to memory so we can use it with authority when our adversary
comes upon us unaware. While knowing the Word is good, we need to go a
step further by applying it to our everyday lives. By meditating on
it, we will always know the right thing to say and do when difficult
situations arise. ACCEPTING & RESPONDING TO GOD’S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE:
To accept and respond to His unconditional love we need to deny
ourselves, take up our cross daily and follow Him. The greatest
commandment is that we love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind
and body and by doing that it will be easier to love our neighbors as
ourselves. INVOLVEMENT IN SUPPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: There’s a saying
“show me your company, I’ll tell you who you are.” As Christians we
need to be careful of the people we have in our inner circle. These
are the people who will have our backs in and every situation so we
have to be sure they are the right choices. The author mentioned truth-
tellers being the greatest resource for growth and we need to surround
ourselves with a few of those. My friends should tell me what I need
to hear to straighten me out as opposed to what I want to hear to keep
a friendship. We should be on one accord, the right accord that is;
God help us if we’re not surrounded by strong, God-fearing people
whose sole interest is Kingdom expansion. I think Accountability Group
Model is a very good idea especially when we have a group of people
who are like-minded. What’s best for the church should be the main
purpose of these gatherings in light of the fact that we try to keep
each other honest. When we know we’re being held accountable for our
actions or non-actions, we will make every effort to be better
persons, hence better leaders. As a leader it would be very rewarding
if I help my students become better Christians by using the AGM. It is
imperative that I let them know that we serve an Omniscient,
Omnipotent God so whatever we do He holds us accountable as he sees
the deep recesses of our hearts. When they all know this they will
learn to be true to themselves and to others therefore, creating a
cycle in which each person’s honesty is taught to and caught by those
they will in turn lead. God’s blessings on you all and God bless
NYYLA.

A. The four learning stages are:

Apprentice
Journeyman
Master
The role of the leader at each stage are as follow:
Novice- Needs to be giving by leader basic information; the what,
how, where, when and why
Apprentice- Needs instruction and given opportunities to practice
and for leaders to evaluate
Journeyman- Needs to be given assignment and encouragement by
leaders
Master- Needs to be given affirmation and autonomy.
B. The five habits Jesus applied that countered the negative forces in

My view on accountability group is that they are necessary
especially in leadership position. The structure of the accountability
group given in chapter 5 is basic and clear-cut which I think many
groups could use to start their own accountability group. The sample
questions I think are upfront and I think that's how they should be
for a group that is holding you accountable. I also like how there are
ground rules because a person must feel safe to open up and be honest
with a group of trusted 'truth-tellers' as the authors put it.
I am still trying to figure out a way to implement this in the groups
that I am in. We have not met since I read this chapter so I will see
how we can find a way to put this into action.

We have learned that the four stages of learning a new task or skill
are:
1. Novice, the stage of being new to a task or skill, at this stage
one needs to know the very basic information, what, when, why, and how
to accomplish a task or learn a skill with the guidance of someone
who cares.
2. Apprentice is one who has moved from the novice stage with a
readiness and desire to learn the new skill. He/She needs to be
assured by someone of what he/she is doing, whether it is correct or
not. clear direction and information need to be provided with a loving
attitude.
3. Journeyman, it is the stage where one has acquired well-developed
skill to perform a task or play a role and is able to work solo but
need encouragement and attention.
4. Master/Teacher is someone who as mastered a task or skill and who
is capable of transferring the knowledge and wisdom he/she has gained
to others with the opportunity and challenge to do so.

The five habits Jesus applied that countered the negative forces in
His life so that He can stayed on purpose are:
1. Solitude, being truly alone with God the Father to commune and
receive of Him for His mission without interruption of the world needs
of Him(Jesus).
2. Prayer, talking to God about needs, desires and wants, using the
ACTS method of prayer as model of prayer is an effective way of
communing with God.
3. Study and application of scripture, relying on the Word of God to
lead and guide in all paths of righteousness. The Bible is the path or
manual to reach God and receive all the goods He has in store for us.
4. Accepting and responding to God's unconditional love is trusting in
God's love to provide for all our cares, wants and needs. As a loving
Father, His desire is to give us his very best in everything for the
glory of His Name.
5. Involvement in supportive relationships is having a source of
support, people we can trust and depend on for strength and
encouragement so we don't become a victim and a martyr of our
leaderships role.
I believe An Accountability Group Model is ideal if we can form one in
our local churches to provide mutual support and accountability for
our continued growth and maturity in leadership as servant leaders of
our Redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ whom we want to lead like.
As a leader using the model mentioned above will help my ministry by
showing the youth that I serve that a support group is very needed in
all aspects of life, especially the Christian life where Satan is
always looking for a weak spot in our lives that he can use to destroy
us or diminish the effectiveness of our works and testimonies for the
glory of God. An Accountability Model purpose is to help us stay on
tract with Jesus by strengthening each other to become the servant
that God wants each one of us to be, A champion like our Lord Jesus!

It has been a pleasure being a student in this class, I've learned so
much from each of you on how to be the servant that God has called me
to be. My hope for each one of you is that God would lead you to be a
master/teacher for the glory of His Name. Rev. Smith, God's best to
you and be bless in your endeavors.

The four stages of learning a new task or skill and the role of the leader in each:
1. Novice - Someone who is just starting out, the leader in this case needs to provide
the basic information before they can progress.
2. Apprentice - Someone in training who have not yet mastered all the information and
skills to work alone.  In this case the leader needs to assure him/her that they doing
the right thing, the right way.
3. Journeyman - Someone who is capable of working independently, who have acquired
well-developed skills in performing the task. The leader in this case will tell him/her when
and where to apply their skills.
4. Master/Teacher - Someone who is highly skilled and able to teach others. They need
to be given the opportunity and challenge to pass on what they know to the next generation
of learners.

The five habits Jesus applied that countered the negative forces in his life are:
1. Solitude - Being totally alone with God for an extended period of time.
2. Prayer -  Seeking God's will and wait for an answer.
3. Study and application of Scripture
4. Accepting and responding to God's unconditional love.
5. Involvement in supportive relationships.

I think An accountability Group Model is a good idea that I think should be introduced
in all Churches.  It will give leaders a chance when they have to answer these
questions to reflect on way they handle situations that they face on a daily basis
and how and where they can say and do things differently.

I can use this model to help youth become better christians in that I can ask them
some of these questions and after getting their responses help to guide them on
the right path.

A. The four stages of learning a new task or skill are:
Novice
Apprentice
Journeyman
Master/teacher
The role of the leader to the novice is to provide basic information.
They need to know the answers to basic questions and other pertinent
information in order to progress. An apprentice requires certainty
from his/her leader. He/she is still in training and needs to be
assured they are doing things the right way and if not, needs to be
corrected. Journeymen know their strengths and when told what and
where to operate, do so effectively. Their leaders must remember them
and “give praise when it’s due”. Masters/Teachers have well developed
skills and want to transfer wisdom and insight to the next generation.
They require freedom to do this from their leader.

B. The five habits that Jesus countered the negative forces in His
life are:
Solitude
Prayer
Study and application of Scripture
Accepting and responding to God’s unconditional love
Involvement in supportive relationships

What is your view on: An Accountability Group
Model?
I think an accountability group is necessary for effective ministry.
So much happens spiritually and individually from day to day and it is
vital that we keep each other focused on the vision and mission to
successfully reach the intended goal. Like the Bible says in Hebrews
10:24-25 “ Consider on another…in love and good works, not forsaking
the assembling of ourselves together….but exhorting one another”. It
is important to discuss “issues”. It is when we do this that we hold
everyone accountable, leaving no one person behind or stuck in one
place longer than needed.

C. Page 184-186 how can you as a leader use this model to help your
students become better Christians?
Oh my! As a leader, this model will help remind me to hold myself
accountable as well as those who work along with me. The lesson plan
listed on pages 184-185 is great. It provides a great example of what
and how an accountability group model should look like, operate and
what should be accomplished. I can visualize this lesson being done
and people taking a deeper look within to change those things out of
place.

Phase 3 Week 4 LEAD LIKE JESUS Chapter 4 & 5

A. What are the four stages of learning a new task or skill and what is the role of the leader at each stage. Page 119-150

The four stages of learning a new skill or task are :

Novice - at the beginning,
Leaders role is to  provide the novice with  basic information (assist in novice in becoming acclimated to the environment), warm welcome from someone seasoned.

Apprentice - in training
Leaders role is to express areas where the apprentice has excelled, motivate and encourage and provide feedback for their opportunities for improvement, push them from fear to greatness through faith.

Journeyman - skills acquired to work alone
Master/teacher - highly skilled with the ability to teach others
Leaders role is to reinforce and courage with heart felt signs of appreciation, something to recharge and renew confidence.

B. What are the five habits Jesus applied that countered the negative forces in His life? What is your view on: An Accountability Group
Model? Pages153-188.
The five habits Jesus applied
Solitude - being completely alone withGod away from all human contact for long periods of time.

Prayer- seeking Gods will through prayer, waiting in faith for the answer and being at piece with the outcome. Essentially a conversation with God.

Study and application of scripture-God invites you daily to experience new and exciting dimensions of His Love.Hear the word,Read the word, study the word, memorize the word, meditate on the word,

Accepting and responding to Gods unconditional Love- Acknowledging Gods promises And that only
In a relationship with God can we find and be assured of a never ending supply of what you need.

Involvement in supportive relationships - it's essential to have a safe harbor relationship of support and accountability.

Page 184-186 how can you as a leader use this model to help your students become better Christians?

An accountability group that provides mutual support  and accountability for continued growth  and maturity can be implemented for the students along with other youth-leaders or just amongst themselves which would create a safe haven to nurture their growth and maturity. I would be interested in assessing the effectiveness after 6months the impact on each others lives by providing this weekly safe haven of accountability and reflection.

There were four stages of learnimg a new task
1) novice
2) apprentice
3) journey man
4)master/teacher

The novice is someone just starting out and may not a clear idea what
is to be done so the role of the leader in this situation is tobring a
clear understading to the plan. They might need to be a little more
detail. The leader will need to give them goal and goals to work
towards
The next role is the apperntice this person is a little more
knowledgable of what needs to done and how yo do it . Therfore in this
situation the job of the leader is to encourage, guide , motivate anf
correct them we seem to have a bit of a problem with confront
correction however if as a leader we guide and redirctbwe will have a
more succesfull follower .
The next role would be that of ajourneyman this individual is one
whois alot mire advanced and can work on his or her own the role of
the leader is then to continue to encourage and inspire these
individuals. To give them assignments and projects to do.
The final level is master teacher the role of the leader at this
stage is to be there as a back up but allow for oppertunities for them
to show what they learned and hopfully they will then share the
knowledge

The five practices that jesus applied that counterd negative forces
in his life were
1)solitude
2)prayer
3)study/ application of scripture
4)accepting and responding to Gods unconditional love
5) involvement in supportive relationship

I totally agree with thes habits they help to become more of a servant
leader like Jesius. If we learn that solitude is not lonliness and
that in solitude God can speak to us . When we spend time in earnnest
prayer and every other habit we will mature in God and by practicing
his habits we then adopt his ways as such we become more like servant
leader.
An accountability group is important to have because when we have
others to account to we try harder to become better christians . If we
apply this model to our ministries we help them stay stable and
focused on the goal at hand and it keeps them more involved in the
process as a result they will in turn grow and become servant leaders
themselves
