My strongest learning style is Analytic. I find that I work well
independently and try to gather information from various sources
instead using one medium. I guess this is because I was taught and
learned very well by this traditional method and have stuck with it to
date.
The two groups of learners I would most likely miss are the
Imaginative and Dynamic.
IMAGINATIVE LEARNERS: may not do very well at
memorizing and therefore does not learn very well if taught the
traditional way. If left to read an article or story by him/herself,
he/she tends to get bored. These get along with and work very well
with others as they love to share information and retain better this
way. The worst thing for an Imaginative learner is to not be given the
chance to speak causing their brain to be “under-utilized.” WHAT TO
DO? Imaginative Learners tend to be auditory learners. Putting them in
groups where they are able to talk things through and listen to others
may have a greater impact on how and what they learn. Allowing them to
give feedbacks regularly also helps ; what they say may not make sense
to others but the more they speak the more their minds work. Because
of their ability to get along with people they may best be used as go-
betweens as they are able to sense feelings, intentions and
motivations. They are great organizers who come up with brilliant
schemes to get the job done right. Also, they tend to be great
teacher’s helpers who can ‘rally the troops’ by maintaining peace and
encouraging cooperation.

DYNAMIC LEARNERS: if taught the traditional way may lose
their zeal as their level of creativity has not been tapped. Whatever
they learn they do not keep for themselves but love to share with
others. They tend to think outside the box and if not given the
opportunity to work to their full potential, may get agitated. Due to
lack of activity and exploration, discipline problems may arise as
they are easily distracted and intensely dislikes monotony. WHAT TO
DO? Dynamic learners are tactile learners. Having grasped a particular
concept, they tend to build on it as they are curious by nature and
will run experiments or do whatever they can to get others to
understand their logic. They should be placed in settings where they
can use their hands bit I would not leave them in a lab unsupervised.
They hardly take things at face value as there is always room for
improvement-they have to add something original to any material
they’re given. Give them opportunities to make different things: play
doh to make Baby Jesus in the Nativity scene; put a chart in front of
the room and let him/her explain to the class what he/she has learnt.
I now know what to do so my teaching does not ignore those students
whose learning styles are different from mine. God’s richest blessings
to you all.

The last Christian Generation
One of the greatest obstacles we face as leaders in our youth ministry
today is our youth distorted view of CHRISTIANITY and TRUTH. Many of
our youth today do not believe that Christianity is based on the life,
character and identity of Jesus Christ. Hence our youth don’t believe
Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our young
people believe that salvation or eternal life is earned and that we
are saved by our good works. The focus is then placed on performance
for acceptance and in doing good things for others, believing that if
you are a good person you will make it to heaven. Unfortunately none
of these actions or events will catapult seekers of the truth into a
life deep spiritual transformation. If Jesus Christ is been taken out
of the equation, then the end result will be destruction. They have no
other option but to live their lives based on what they think is right
and not a life built on the true foundation of what biblical
Christianity is about. Proverbs 3:5-6 which states; “Trust in the
Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding, in
all your ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct your path,” will be
of no significant to them. Without Gods direction one will take the
path that leads to destruction.
Our youth distorted view of truth has led them to believe that; all
truth is relative to the individual and his/her circumstances.
Therefore many believe that they have no right to judge another
person’s view or behavior. Or what gives me the right to tell someone
they are wrong for there is no way to tell which religion is true.
They believe all faiths teach equally valid truth, denoting that
Christianity can’t be exclusively true. Hence they are reluctant in
sharing the Gospel of Christ with their peers. Many believe in doing
whatever works for them, and that instant gratification is the way to
go. This result in our young people cheating on their exams lies to
peers and adults, use illegal drugs and will physically hurt someone
when angry. Many fall into an unstable reality of whom or what God is.
Thus accepting every belief and compromising their faith. Paul in
Hebrews 13:9 beseech us “Be not carried about with diverse strange
doctrines.” Our young will be if lost if as leaders we fail to seek
God on their behalf and be willing help to restore them back to the
foundation of the Gospel of Christ.

In most religions they neither believe nor accept that Jesus
Christ is the Messiah. Their belief system is hinged on a particular
creed which, God forbid, if removed they still have their entire
religion intact. Christ is the foundation of Christianity, rightly
said by the author, Christ is Christianity. He is the Way (not one of
several), the Truth (one and only), and the Life that will secure our
salvation. Our young people today may be more articulate and
knowledgeable than we are but a vast majority of them are ignorant of
biblical Christianity. Peer pressure coupled with the idea that they
need to be accepted has led to a complete erosion of the meaning of
Christianity they were taught as kids. They may still believe that
there is a Christ who is a son of God but do not actually believe that
He is the only Son of God who came to take away the sins of the world.
Christianity to them is just a code of ethics and morality- if you do
good you will be saved. That’s probably why they are so readily
accepting of other religions that are not Christ based and Christ led.
Some would rather have an alternative to Christianity (which by the
way is null and void) which leaves them shaky as their foundation is
weak without Him. They have also adopted the idea that all cultures
and beliefs are equal, forgetting the Living Word which states that we
should “not be conformed to the things of this world.” To confess
Christ we have to believe that He is : (1) the only One who came to
solve our sin problem. (2) The only authority on whom, we can call,
through faith and have our sins forgiven.  We are given the spirit of
love, power and a sound mind so our young people should not lack
confidence in Christ, allowing themselves to be swayed by any/every
false doctrine out there.
There can only be one truth and Christ Himself told us “I am the
Truth.”If we only go around flaunting the name Christian not allowing
our lights to shine so God is pleased with us, then we are not living
the Truth.  The central focus of our religion is Christ so we cannot
take Him out of the equation and still have our religion. In order to
live Christ-like we have to KNOW Him so He will set us free. Our
youths are in spiritual and sometimes physical bondage because they
have turned away from their first love, forgetting that the Truth will
set them free. The truth cannot be altered. Even in the natural use of
the word people want to have alternatives for eg. white lie (meaning
it’s not really a lie) and fib (which is just a pretty name for lie).I
happen to know that some of our youth today(because they are so well-
read) are actually questioning our existence and how we came. Answers
like ‘we came from our parents’, or ‘we came from apes’ are still
floating around. If these kids who were raised in the church are
asking “what came first the chicken or the egg?” who is going to
minister to their peers? We are now at a crossroads where the truth
has become whatever works for you I’m ok with. In order not to step on
toes or hurt each other’s feelings, what each person does is accepted
because it is their truth . They may not necessarily be active
participants but have allowed the truth of others to pervade their
entire lives. We are not allowed to be “ourselves” Christians, we
already belong to Christ and should not live like the children of
Israel who at one time had no king and everyone “did what was right in
his own eyes.” Also, we need to stop adopting some concepts from the
secular world to use inside the church. These ‘tactics’ sometimes
causes the youth to have no ‘urge’ to come over ‘here’ when they can
stay over ‘there’ and get the same things we offer plus ‘empty
pleasures’ and no guilt trip. Forgiveness through faith in Christ
(Truth) is the joy of the gospel and when the joy is missing they’re/
we’re easily led astray. He is our only hope for salvation therefore
the sole opportunity for a relationship with God. If we do not stand
up for what is right we will fall for anything.

Having a distorted view of anything always lead to error in judgement.
The effects of the distorted view our young generation about
Christianity will only lead to wrong paths that lead to death unless
something is done to correct it. Their current view of Jesus is a way
instead of The Way to God will keep them living in sin and trespasses.
Also, the idea that good works can make them acceptable to God is
foolishness, otherwise Jesus did not have to come in this world to
shed his blood for the remission of our sins. All we would have to do,
is perform good works to get right with God, but the bible is very
clear on how we obtain salvation. Acts 4:12 tells us that "For there
is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved" except
Jesus Christ the Son of God who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. So
it is Jesus only by His sacrificial death.
Now, the effects of the distorted view of the Youths of this
generation of truth as being relative to the individual is a major
flaw that will cause disappointments. It will also cause them to be
poor witnesses for the Truth, Christ Jesus, who is the Alpha and the
Omega. The youths of Christianity need to see themselves the way 1
peter 2:9 described us " But you are a chosen people, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation a people belonging to God, that you may
declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his
wonderful light. People in general not just youths need to regard
"truth is either objectively true and conformed to reality, or it is
simply not truth" stated by Josh McDowell in the book. For it is only
the truth that can set us free from the coming destruction of this
world. May God in his mercy open their eyes so that they can see truth
for who He is and the enemy for what he is, a liar and a deceiver.

"Open their eyes see they can see the Truth for who He is", love that.
Too often they're stumbling around blindly as if their eyes do not
work. One reason is that many of us as adults, sadly, would love for
the youths to "do as I say not as I do."

The devil is a liar. We all have to do our part for the Kingdom's sake
so the youth can see real examples been set before them.If we mumble
our stumble instead of walk the talk then this will really be the Last
Christian Generation.Taking God for granted is the main reason for the
apostasy, but,EVERY knee shall bow on that fateful day and I refuse to
be one of those who are put in leadership position and abuse it. May
the God of peace open the eyes of our heart so we can see, live and
teach Him for who He really is. God bless.

1. What are some of the effects of the distorted view of
Christianity?
It is difficult to believe that many youths believe they can “come to”
Christ in their own way. McDowell states that most young people are
trying to earn their way to heaven. They believe that if they follow
his teachings and do enough good in life, they will get a “free”
ticket into heaven. This is a distorted view of Christianity. What
makes Christianity different from other religions is that one must
have a progressive relationship with God. That comes from being
transformed like McDowell stated on page 39. Experiencing
transformation will change one from the inside out. Our youths need to
know that we cannot ask ourselves for forgiveness or change certain
things we need the help of God to transform our hearts, minds and
actions in order to change us.

2. What are some of the effects of the distorted view of truth?
Some of the effects of the distorted view of the truth is the shocking
statistic written in the book “81% of young people believe that all
truth is relative to the individual and his/her circumstances.” This
is a problem due to the fact that many youths believe certain
principles in the Bible apply to them and/or who ever else would
believe. This puts the principles listed in the Bible compromising.
It would mean that the Bible would work, if one believes in the
principles listed. One Pastor said “the Bible is a book of commands,
not options”. I believe this to be true. What is listed in the Bible
is true for EVERY believer, not to the individual. We youth leaders,
must teach this and make sure our youths understand this very
important complex.

I think I best fit imaginative because as soon as I hear something my
curuiousity sets in and i want to know why.

The student I think I am most likely to miss is the analytic ones
because even though at first their thirst for knowledge is not that
different from mine own the fact that they may need every single
detail may take too much time and i might find myself cutting them off
because of the need to save time.
and also I might miss the Dynamic learners for the mere fact that I
might not have the resources on hand to allow them to express what
they have been thought and then they get bored so easy because they
might not be able to carry out what they are thought.

However because I am called to reach all and I do want to reach all
that is set before me to reach I am willing to find lessons that are
more rounded and that will fit into the time given to me. Or I can
allow my students to be more involved in the planning of lessons such
as we can discuss topics that they struggle with the most and once I
know what those are i will be able to better gear my lessons to fit
those things and also I first need to figure out which student is
which and maybe each week I can have a student assistant teacher so
they can help me reach their particular style.

The last Christian generation chapter 2&3

1.What are some of the effects of the distorted view of Christianity?
The effects of the distorted view of Christianity are: The
misconception of being transformed through good acts is common amongst
our young people. Living a Christ-like life becomes a daily struggle
when you are trying to achieve it through your own will and strength
but will never achieve it. According to the reading “Transformation is
a supernatural experience resulting from God as our redeemer.” We need
to make it clear to our young people that you don’t earn it, you don’t
deserve it, You can’t buy it. By the Grace of God you receive truth
into your life. As youth leaders we need to rebuild the most basic
truth within our churches and homes to get our young people on the
right path to really get to know God truly for themselves.

2.What are some of the effects of the distorted view of truth?
When it comes to truth, young people view that moral truth is not true
until they believe it. The truth is misconstrued by young people by
being the result after the act of believing is achieved. This causes a
problem because with the mere act of believing you can be easily
swayed to believe something else regardless of it being biblical or
not. Its absolutely alarming but it is beneficial that this way of
rationalizing that our young people do can be circumvented though
training our young people and starting now, back to basics. We have to
rebuild and equip our young people with the truth and help them grow
replacing this circumstantial personal standard of morality with
reintroducing them to Christ and see him as the person of Truth!

1. What are some of the effects of the distorted view of Christianity?
One of the most important effects of the distorted view of
Christianity is how it is preventing our youth form being real
witnesses of the Word of God. God has called us to spread the Gospel
to everyone and for them it would be very difficult to spread the Word
if they are not sure if what they belief in is real. Just as McDowell
presented in the illustration of Endira and Melanie, Melanie did not
find the need to talk to her friend Endira about Christianity because
she already believed in something and she wanted to respect that
instead of presenting her with the truth. Not long ago I had a
discussion with my youth about the so called “many paths that lead to
heaven” and about the reality of the Word of God when Jesus made a
statement and said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through Me'" (John 14:6). I even brought in
some synopses of different religions and their teachings just so they
do not open their ears to lies out of curiosity. Once they understand
that Jesus is the only path then they would be able to defend their
faith and use the authority given by God to be witnesses of His
Word.
2. What are some of the effects of the distorted view of truth?
McDowell mentioned the subjective view of the Bible as one of the
effects of the distorted view of truth. The problem with this is that
our youth believe that Jesus’ teachings are good for only those that
believe. When the truth is that the Bible is the truth, the absolute
truth for everyone.

The effects of the distorted view of Christianity is that our Churched young
people cannot witness to their peers about the true and living God, because
they are not convinced that Christianity is the true religion.  They believe that
if they follow the teachings and do good in life they will earn their way to heaven.
As the author writes on page 39 "We can try to live better in our own strength,
but that does not produce the transformation God requires.

The effects of the distorted view of the truth is that most young people believe
that everyone have a right to their own belief of the truth, they think that things
are true because they believe it.  They are taught to respect other's choices
and to refrain from judging other people's decisions.  I agree with the author
on page 48 when he writes "unless we restore Christ, not their own opinions
and choices to his rightful place as the standard, our kids won't have a chance."
